Solitude is a PSP and PC game using a heavily modified Quake engine, expanding upon the story in the Halo universe.

Solitude's story will try its best to keep to the canon of the Halo universe. All our story writers have read the Halo Novels, as well as played the games, gathering as much information as they can.

Expect a great, brand new single player story and all of the most popular multiplayer modes from Halo : Combat Evolved and a few of our own :

  • Slayer - Every man for himself.
  • Team Slayer - Red vs Blue, 4 vs 4.
  • Capture the Flag - Capture the enemies flag and take it to your base.
  • Odd ball - Survive the longest with the skull.
  • Survival" - Players will be trapped and forced to face of against waves of Covenant and flood trying to survive for the longest time.

The Flaming Ice team is working hard to bring the game to you as fast as possible, more information can be found on our site at, stay tuned.

Note: All our models and textures are our own, made by using the original Halo models only as reference.

Welcome to Solitudes 43rd news update!

Well, I feel pretty bad. I mean I've practically abandon this project during the release stage due to that evil thing (Real life). I've left most of the tedious work to Peter (Arkage) and Greg (Xalener). They've put in an extra 50% effort to compensate for my absence, every year, we put in extra effort during the ModDB (and also now IndieDB) Mod of the year awards. However due to the massive step up in our education (Doing my A levels now, Peter's doing a full time Game course and Gregs doing something american.) we just haven't had the opportunity to work as much as we'd like. For that: I'm sorry.

Now we have that out the way, lets cheer things up.

Solitude's release

It may have not hit ModDB yet, but Solitude has actually been released, and since two patches too! Why hasn't it been released on ModDB yet? Simple. We wanted to make it a better experience for the wider audience; in this case, ModDB. Our little community has been playing it for about a month now, and it's been given a better response then I could've hoped for. A few more patches, and you guys here should have neat little download!
Here's what the current alpha looks like!

The website

We've had the domain for a while, we've had the website ready for a while. It's just been a time issue, however hopefully will be up and running in no time!

I guess I should finish this up with a plea for votes, but late bit ehh. Mod of the Year and Indie Game of the year.

Where did the past year go? Feels like yesterday me and Peter we're staring at that bloody scoreboard and attempting to spam the hell out of this lovely site.

We might have had delays as bad as valve, teamwork as great as this, but I've had a hell of a year working on Solitude, and I can safely say Peter and Greg have too. It'd be a massive achievement to be in the top 100 list for the third year running. Very unlikely, but still worth a shot right?!

Stay tuned for a Moddb release sometime very soon!
If you like what you see, we encourage you to Track the Game to be be updated on future media, the more watchers, the more pressure I've got to make consistent updates!

Thanks guys, See ya!

Texture wads (hl format) to be used in the creation of maps for Solitude (this doesn't mean you can use them in other projects).

If jukki really is planning to bring this back to life, good luck, and i hope that i can help somehow.
I hope we all can pitch in to bring this project back on its feet

Uhh, i really dont think that this game is revivable, considering its been dead for so long and who knows where the assets to the game is. And there is absolutely no point in taking content from the only release and "redoing" it only to accomplish the same thing the release did.

Good point, but the messages between me and the original SOlitude developers say that they stopped because the engine source was lost.
They still have the models and progs, just not an engine
and DQ is a better engine than what they had, so all jukki needs is to get the original progs source.
If you want proof i can post it

The engine source was not lost, progs.dat is useless if you want to change anything, qc can easily be started from scratch, and i know about all the models and stuff. How do I know all this? I was kind of a dev back in the day, I am good friends with a few of the devs. Oh and I have the original Solitude assets dropbox in its entirety, all models, maps, code, assets, textures, all 650MB worth.

Then how come Samuk, Scifi and the others says that the engine was lost?
Look on my profile for the picture

If you actually do have a peice of the engine source, then i would contact the original devs
Im just saying what they allow me to show from the conversation

im looking at the engine source right now. Regardless of the conversation you had. And no offense to you, but you being new this quake modding, how could you possibly hope to bring solitude up to the glory it once had. How would you get the needles to seek out and stick to a player, how would you get a plasma grenade to stick to a player, how would you get the sword to lunge when a player is within a certain distance? Stuff that takes quite a bit of QuakeC experience to do. Its questions like this you have to ask yourself when you decide to make a game. I'm not saying this to belittle you, Im saying this cause I know from first hand experience, every "veteran" modder had to start somewhere, I'll be the first to admit that I started in your shoes. But in return ill be the bearer of bad news to let you know that your not ready to take on a game like this. Especially one that has a large reputation like Solitude. It would take alot of effort to not offend the name.

Hi, I'm new here(moddb/indiedb). This is my first comment and i joined just to say that please dont let this game die.
I dont need to mention how this game is the best first person shooting homebrew game(handheld console) or in the whole apps. I like to contribute more but playing this game is all i can do for now and a complete release would be...

PS. Ill be as active as i can in this forum. Thanks for reviving the project and all hard works.
