This game is widely accepted by skiing fans and ski resort enthusiasts. Natural choice for game content for this game would of course be a real world ski park. I searched internet for resources, but did not find enough sufficient data to start with.
So I turn to you - players and skiers - for help finding resources for adding real ski resort to the game. If you want to have your favorite ski resort in Ski Park Tycoon and have some detailed information about it please send it to me at info@skiparktycoon.com or post in the forum.
What do I need?
- Ski resort map - detailed top down map (orthographic) with all lifts and slopes. For some reason all ski resort maps are just some artistic drawings with distorted perspective with no information value.
- Height data of the region - geodata describing ski resort. The smaller resolution the better. All geodata sources I have found do not have small enough resolution to be of any help for me. Any kind of format would suffice. Just send what you have and I try to crunch that data. I could do it even without height data if I have elevations in the park map but then it would be just approximation.
- Ski resort history - it would be a nice scenario for the game to build the park exactly as it was built in reality.

Although this is a nice ski resort unfortunately this map is not good enought. It is not orthographic and it has no elevation data.

I have almost all the Alps in DEM format but with only 30 meters resolution.

Could you confirm me that the size of each map is it 512x512? I can oversample the 30 meters to 15 meters or even better using a custom algo so just tell me the resolution you are looking for.
I have written a small tool used to extract the data and convert them into 16 bits raw high maps.
The set of data is quite big about 600 Mo.
Maybe I can send an example such as a ski resort area... just tell me which one ;)
I extract the data from bmp-grayscale file of any size (512 up to 2048) Doesnt even have to be power of two.
I think the masures could be corrected. There is too much alttitude difference on slopes and on lifts. A peak that natturaly looks like let say 1500 meters in game has alttitude over 3000m. So the cable car or chair lift runs over 2000m in altitude. I cant say that I ever saw such chairlif......or a slope that has altitude difference over 3000m. =D
Yes, its a bit of a mess with the measures. The thing is that addon maps are not created with same scale that is why.

The data is in HGT, but time ago I was able to convert them to DEM (can not remember which instrument) and then to a bitmap.
