Isn't this awesome? A Video, purely made for the 1.7.6_5 Update? Yes it is, just admit it. And with your acceptance of this I welcome you to the newest news of the news to Sirius.

What a week, I have to say. What an amazing week. Sirius has been shown on the IndiE3, and there was so much love, so much appreciation of my craft that it almost brought a tear to my eye. I love feedback! And so I decided to hand you the first Multiplayer Build in an Installer to keep you interested. Also, because I'd love some performance reports and network stress tests.

If you have pictures of you and friends testing the Multiplayer Build of Sirius, feel free to send in Screenshots, Videos and Pictures to r.m.dirks [at] or register directly at our Forums via

You can get Version 1.7.6_5 from IndieDB with a click on this neatly designed and nifty and totally useful button:

Finishing this part of the news with the Tweets that made my week, from IndiE3 Host Solon:

@vektorDex I was sooo PEW PEW PEW yesterday after Sirius! "STAR WARRRRS"— S O L O N (@SolonCubed) 15. June 2014

Reverend did make an appropiateTweet about his reaction, too.

Also, look that the retweets of this one. Yay! Me love more of them!

take a look at the new trailer of sirius online from @VektorDex it's pretty cool! #gamedev— GuruMeditationPrject (@GuruMeditationP) 17. June 2014

Current Version: 1.7.6_5
Plugins Running are:
- FastExt Full
- FastImage Full
- DST_Lib
- PhysRX1.2.4 NEW!

New Features added are:
- "Warp To"-Spot, for collective LAN target
- LAN Multiplayer connecting interface
- Randomized Port for Localhost Multiplayer testing
- Scanner to discover content from Belts
- Minor Performance fixes

Due to the changes in Code for the Network Play, expect to see your firewall pop up. As host, you always use Port 2222 UDP and TCP.
However, if you manage to be able to testplay over Internet, please, for [insert deity]s sake, let me know how you managed to achieve this. Also I am calling out for you to test it on Hamachi and/or Tunngle.

Yes, I got it. You can't trust Paypal, its expensive, you have to pay a bunch of fees. Right. So I got in contact with the nice people at Desura and am planning to sell Early Alpha Access over there. Don't worry, you will still be able to get the Game here, but(!) Early Alpha Accessers will be able to save their progress and get the updates prioritized - something has to pay the Server!
See you soon on Desura!

Thats it, folks, a surprisingly short, but important news update. I hope you were entertained, will have fun in the newest build, maybe even spread the news and I, for myself, am looking forward to the next build!

Yours truly, Dex

Excuse me for pointing this out, But the Dragonuv looks
suspiciously like the recently added Venture from the
latest expansion for Eve Online. Is this a coincidence or
intended inspiration? Obvious difference is the top
mounted guns, which do look nice. Eve Online version
in the link below so you can compare.

Yes, we admit, EVE Online is a big inspiration for us, because their designers are geniuses and their general game design is quite awesome. But to clarify things, to avoid getting a c&d from CCP hf. we reworked the Dragunov and you can see the current version in our gallery.

I love games like this! I'm curious, will there be trade? Missions?

vektorDex Nov 18 2012, 8:07pm replied:

Both. While we try to avoid all static dungeon/mission things, we came up with the idea of "Invasions", spawing a group of enemies on accepting a mission, based on the amount of players in the group. Trade and Economy will be fully in players hand, because players decide on prices and such.

Cool! That sounds like a very natural way to handle both the economy and missions.
