Siege of Turtle Enclave is a turn-based strategy game with real-time battles! Through the course of the game the player must collect resources, build and upgrade mighty structures, train a wide variety of troops, cast spells, conquer territory and wage war against a mighty foe in this innovative 4X strategy game! This is primarily a graphical update (pretty cool if I do say so myself), with some framework installed to pave the way for the Special Edition units to be made available through Steam.

What's that? You don't know about the Special Edition? That was a cool bit of fluff I made for the PWYW deal on IndieGameStand a while back, if you beat the average price during the sale you got to download the 'Special Edition' of the game. The only difference being that it included 6 additional units; three ranged gunpowder units and three melee golem units, a bunch of people who missed the sale expressed an interest in grabbing the extra units so I decided to add them as DLC on Steam. They should be coming out sometime within the next few weeks, I've been really busy lately but I'm making the time to get them set up.

Oh also the game on Steam and IndieGameStand now includes Linux versions! Yay! I' expecting problems with that so if you have any please let me know, I'll try and address them as quickly as possible.

As for other changes there is now an end-battle screen that tells you how many units you lost, how many of them recovered after being struck down, and also how many enemy units you killed.

! ! Heads up ! ! With Desura going down I advise anyone who purchased the game through Desura who even has a passing interest in this game grab a Steam Key for this game through your Desura account, in case the website goes dark.

3: Around 50+ Turtles (that the player can control) and 40+ Owls (controlled by the A.I.).

4: The game already has Heroes, and Villains too.

5: Updates usually come out every other month or so.

6: Yes, I'll be outlining all the specific details about Conquest mode in an upcoming news post, probably in the next few weeks.

1,Wkll there be a skermih mode9 OR ANY OTHER UNLCOKBLE MODE0 other than th ecampain?

Thanks for your interest in the game! :)

1: Yes, there will be Skirmish mode (that consists of a single battle of picked or random troops) and there will be Conquest mode, kind of a progressive series of battles with no economic element , I'll be outlining the full details on the various game modes in a future news post so stay tuned!

2: Alas, no, at least not initially. Maybe if the game does really well when it's finished I may decide to add some DLC/content patches or things like that. But we'll see.

Can't get 0.5, as usual Desura has not updated and the game does not have an update option on the main menu.

So my question is, How do I update to version 0.5 from 0.4.8a?

Hi sorry it took so long to respond, are you still having trouble? I just uploaded the stand-alone file for installing 0.5 independent of Desura, so you can try that if the patch still isn't showing up.

The thing I like about you as a developer is your updates are quite big, not often but big. I think they are well worth the wait, I shall be checking out the new stuff later. Did the aggressiveness get balanced or is that still the same for now?

Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to re-do the aggression settings, I've been saving balancing changes like that until Beta (the unit stats are all way out of place too). It's just been a mad content grind and bug squashing fest during Alpha. But never fear! When Beta lands the AI is getting a massive overhaul, a complete re-write, that should take care of over aggressive behavior once and for all, (or under aggressive behavior, for the truly mad players that live only to kill enemies) and make it much more interesting as well. But like you said, it will be a while before that update comes out...

Status Update: Ahhh *sigh of relief*

Apparently all is in order now, the proper builds are in place and the mirrors appear to be dishing them out. (As far as I can tell)

Thank you, played it a few times now and no problems with it. Hate the fact i turn aggressive and everything to low though and after 12 days I get attacked on a daily basis. I thought the low settings would give a me a day or twos safety before being attacked again. Still think it's a good game with lots of potential though :) Merry Christmas to you too :)

Thanks for the feedback! I am holding off on most of the major aggro/balance/pacing issues until Beta, but I'll keep this in mind for future updates! Maybe I can rig up a temporary fix as I also felt the enemy was too aggressive. ;)
