SickBrick is an action-oriented Sci-Fi FPS with vivid graphics and old school gameplay.

The game consists of 15 levels mixing indoor and outdoor areas. You’re forced to do tests for an unknown robotic mastermind. Destroy hundreds of hostile robots with a wide variety of weapons on a strange alien planet. Jump in a hover-tank and wreak havoc on giant boss enemies. As you go through the tests, you slowly unravel the story through log files of previous test subjects.

The game contains the following:

  • 15 maps with a mix of outdoor and indoor locations on a strange alien world.
  • 5 unique and devastating weapons. Chainsaw, Shotgun, Lightning Gun, Grenade Launcher, and the Shock Rifle.
  • 10 deadly robotic enemies each with custom animations and sounds.
  • Explosive hover-tank driving sections.
  • Vivid graphics reminiscent of the golden years of first person shooters.
  • Advanced graphical technologies like depth of filed and screen space ambient occlusion.
  • A rocking original soundtrack.
  • Includes MapEditor and ResourceEditor for creating custom maps and mods.

Dudes! Great news!

SickBrick just got greenlit for a Steam release. We will be integrating Steamworks completely which means stats, achievements, steam overlay, trading cards, the whole nine yards. We love steam and feel honored to have our first game finally up there.

When we got this email:

we honestly thought it was a bot trolling us with spam or something. Took us a full minute to realize what was happening.
We somehow got on the 22. spot on Greenlight and stayed there for a long time getting more and more "yes" votes until we got on Greenlight!

Of course we couldn't have done it without you, the fans. We'd like to thank you all for playing SickBrick on Desura, voting on greenlight, commenting on the game, finding bugs and everything else you've done to get us here.

Be sure to like SickBrick on facebook and follow us on twitter for all the latest news.

Cheers!

Please do not include non-native games in the Linux section. Or, mention the use of WINE prominently on the games page.

Where exactly would you want us to mention it? We are sorry if you are dissatisfied with the game. A native Linux version of the game will come out when the engine supports it. Until then we are stuck with a wine wrapper. We just want to bring the game to as many people as possible.

Until Desura come up with a way to represent/indicate games that run under Wine, it'd be nice to have a mention in the summary text if you're willing to do that.

Awesome. I've just bought the game :D

It might be worth altering the summary to say that you're expecting to have a native version at some stage (if that's still the case).

now I'm downloading the demo to try out hoe it works, under wine... I have only a question regarding the price. It says 7,99$ but as I'm in the euro zone, and the price would be 5,75€ and not 7,99€!!

I know this must be desura's fault, but if we all want to be fair, the price should be the same for everyone... users like me can felt cheated and developers can lose sells with that situation, if they are not aware that their product has two prices...

Regards

Argh I had no idea it used Wine. Purchased it for Ubuntu 11.10 64bit. I hope a native version comes out because although it runs rather smooth under Wine, there are glitches in the graphics at times. Sometimes blotches of discolored pixels between each frame. It looks and somewhat feels promising though.

when the game was still under development i did play a early beta of it, and the final demo, (it was on moddb while it was developed). that said i have to say that it has come a rather good game but like someone else suggested above, maybe it was a bit to early released because it still had a few minor issues.

but, for only 7,99 euro it is a great game. the difference between the indoor and outdoor envirement is nice change. it has not much depth or a story but for a small shooting game it does give enough gameplay plessure.

For an indie developed game, it has really nice rendering and graphics. The atmosphere of the game is pretty good too. However some models don't look too right, but its neglible. Just waiting on a native Linux release now.
