SickBrick is an action-oriented Sci-Fi FPS with vivid graphics and old school gameplay.

The game consists of 15 levels mixing indoor and outdoor areas. You’re forced to do tests for an unknown robotic mastermind. Destroy hundreds of hostile robots with a wide variety of weapons on a strange alien planet. Jump in a hover-tank and wreak havoc on giant boss enemies. As you go through the tests, you slowly unravel the story through log files of previous test subjects.

The game contains the following:

  • 15 maps with a mix of outdoor and indoor locations on a strange alien world.
  • 5 unique and devastating weapons. Chainsaw, Shotgun, Lightning Gun, Grenade Launcher, and the Shock Rifle.
  • 10 deadly robotic enemies each with custom animations and sounds.
  • Explosive hover-tank driving sections.
  • Vivid graphics reminiscent of the golden years of first person shooters.
  • Advanced graphical technologies like depth of filed and screen space ambient occlusion.
  • A rocking original soundtrack.
  • Includes MapEditor and ResourceEditor for creating custom maps and mods.

Greets people!

SickBrick has passed Greenlight a few weeks ago and since then we've been working tirelessly to update the game to Steam's standards. We've finished work on the game a few days ago and have released the game on Steam!

The road to Steam has been tough, we first put the game on greenlight back when it started in 2012, but we did not have enough fans to pass greenlight. Since then the game has been featured in many bundles which helped gain us gain followers. We also showed the game off on multiple expos and conferences. This enabled us to pass greenlight, after which we worked on the game non-stop to get it in shape for a Steam release.

Really enjoyed the demo, and I would buy this game immediately if I could get a decent framerate. Is there any plan for optomizing the linux version? I'm assuming the wine wrapper is making it slower, as pretty much every native game I play gives me 60fps.

Either way congrats on the game.

We will develop a full port for linux if the developers of the engine the game was built on (NeoAxis) make a version of the engine for linux.

Played the demo and I'm seriously considering buying the full version. As for two-guys game, it's a really good achievement. The graphics are very disjointed (as someone wrote - flat textures don't mix with detailed ones too good), the voices are sometimes impossible to understand, but I just liked this game, it's simplicity, not-too serious story and of course the tank level!
Will write a bigger review later.

The demo is running at 12-15 FPS with all advanced graphic options turned off and drops to 3-4 as soon as you are facing the first enemies - when linux will be natively supported i will give this a second try, because it looks quite promising IMO

Hi there!

I followed your game a while now and tried the demo today (on Ubuntu 64bit). Actually I can't get it to run smoothly. When there are more than 3 enemies on screen it slows down under 10fps. (My PC runs Skyrim on Windows and Heaven Benchmark both in high settings at over 30fps constantly....) ... I think the problem is the wine-wrapper.
I hope a native linux client will be available some day. Or at least your next game will have, because I personally will not buy ANY indy-game without a linux version. (I would take a wine-wrapper if a game really excites me and a demo ensures me that its running fine...) (Actually I don't understand why someone would like to seperate out a big part of potential customers, espacially when there are almost no competitive products at the moment for linux...)

Besides that I really like the game. Very impressive for a single person...!

For an indie developed game, it has really nice rendering and graphics. The atmosphere of the game is pretty good too. However some models don't look too right, but its neglible. Just waiting on a native Linux release now.
