Shallow Space is a 3D Real Time Strategy game inspired by Nexus: The Jupiter incident and Homeworld. Shallow Space focuses on organised mass RTS space combat in a fully 3D environment. Ships in Shallow Space are nearly always grouped into Flotillas and Wings, and orders issued to these structures cascade to the subordinate members. Rather than stressing out clicking on the units or dragging selection boxes during the heat of battle, standing orders are issued in advance leaving you to zoom around, activating abilities and arranging support and reinforcements. Should the tide turn in battle traditional control is still available.

Description

The alpha is about to hit 0.7.10 and we'll update the demo after a brief spell of closed testing. There are over 40 additions, fixes and tweaks in the latest version and lot's of work has gone into the Corvettes. Their movement and AI in particular has been overhauled and space will start to feel a little more congested with plenty of these little guys flying around.

Beyond 0.7.10 but before we turn our attention to building Early Access, there's still more to come with NPC traffic and some abilities, plus we'll turn our attention to missiles - reducing the 'spam-fest' like nature of them by configuring hulls without the 'slung' missile launchers and perhaps including a dedicated missile cruiser with a selection of ammo types in the demo.

The aim is to add a little something of everything to the demo and of course in the background it enables us to install the framework in which we will literally fill with configurable options when the time is right. Look forward to seeing you over on IndieDB in a few days time for the crowdfunding post-mortem and thanks for the continued support!
