We reveal some details on the garage environment seen within our upcoming XBLIG game Shadow Racers.

Shadow Racers is an arcade style 3D racing game we're developing for XBLIG, WP7, iPad and iPhone. The game contains 15 distinct vehicles for you to race and we've also added the ability to change many aspects of your cars performance and appearance for those people that like to fiddle with such settings.

The game contains a few environments in which the player can perform these customizations. One of these is the garage. In the garage the player can buy upgrades for their cars which include tire options, engine upgrades, nitrous canisters and handling upgrades.

In the garage you can also re-paint your car, choosing a new colour and a new type of paint. The video below shows us testing the paint selection screen with a few of the cars that feature in the game:

We're working to improve all aspects of the game's user interface and we're hoping to make this game one of the best looking and most fun games to play on XBLIG.

Next up, we'll be posting a video of the same environment and paint selection screen from the WP7 version of Shadow Racers which is also in-development right now! *

* Note that the video is showing the Xbox 360 version of the game.

Also, I see you're using l/r trigger to change the paint type. You could use r/l button to change the color also, that would make sense and make it faster to use.

Thanks, we had been considering that and might give it a go. Potentially we could even drop the table of colours and go with three panels showing hue/saturation/brightness which is how we're doing it on Windows Phone 7 (easier to customize colour with the touch screen).
