ScrumbleShip is the most accurate space combat simulation devised to date. Gather resources, construct a capital ship out of individual blocks, then pilot it with AI or human help against other players.

This image has a light on the right, a shape in the middle, and a flat wall on the left.
But is that... a shadow of the shape on the wall?
I'm working on a couple things right now. Among them is an experimental lighting system. It only works on the block level, but with simpler scenes like this it does really well. Asteroids and other complex shapes look a little stranger.
I'm also working on a major overhaul to the order objects are rendered to the screen. Early tests suggest it will boost the view distance by ~20% and smooth out the framerate significantly. That's harder to take screenshots of, though.

Looking good for an early prototype, will add some nice lighting to the game :D
'Awesome!! I've been wanting shadows from day 1, and now it;s becoming a reality. That optimization sounds amazing too. Keep up the awesome work - it's really paying off!
