An intense atmoshere that keeps you nervous from the containment breach till your demise. Requires some logical thinking such as placing the gas mask on your face so as to avoid blinking faster in smoke. The creature chasing you is not particularly scary until it starts speeding towards you to break your neck. A game that keeps a nervous, paranoid player such as me looking behind you for threats and jumping at the slightest sound. The randomised maps also keep things intersting as you have to ind your way around a new map every time which is really fun and keeps the scares coming. The slender dev's could really take something out of the randomised maps idea. This game re-awakens the dormant horror genre for a fun, well spent time of fear. A true gem among all the rubish horrors out there. Keep it coming!

Great game, the atmosphere is extremely oppressing and anxiety inducing. I find myself closing the game after 20 minutes because I can't take it anymore. The enemy's AI is extremely aggressive at times and keeps you on your toes. It's exciting and the endings are quite satisfying. The lack of any attack makes you use your wits to get past puzzles, enemies and hazards. Please do try this game especially if you're craving a good scare.

And then this game :D I rated this 10 out of 10 becaus it's such an atmospheric, maze game with creepy *** monsters! I chose 10 out of 5 things I focus on when reviewing, it's Quality, Scares, Length, Lag and Story (atmosphere and stuff like that is included in the Quality!)
Quality: One of the best atmospheric games I have seen in an indie game ever, it's good look, the whole area is like a damn maze, and you have no idea where to go xD HUGE 10! Scares: Yepp, scariest game I have ever played I can promise, this game can scare anyone from time to time if it tries to scare you correctly! (for example standing 1cm close to your back when you open a door...) BIG 10! Length: Hard to say I mean, it's long in itself, maybe way to long xD But it's a maze so :P BIG 9! Lag: I never experienced lag in this game before :D clean 10! Story: If it actually had a story (maybe it does, what do I know) I would be much more pumped to play it! I know you can finish the game in different gates and stuff, but it's really hard xD
Quality: 10 - Scares: 10 - Length: 9 - Lag: 10 - Story: 8 Very close to the best review I have given, it's a tie xD

This is my favorite horror game. There's so much to explore, and everything's random so it's a different experience every time. It will definitely scare the crap out of you. I love this game so much.

This is by far one of the greatest horror games that I've ever played. The atmosphere is very well done, there are a variety of things to do and find, the game includes some comical relief (because there needs to be some relief in horror games), and, best of all, the map is different every time. To sum up what I'm saying, I've been playing this since v0.3 and SCP-173 still manages to make me jump out of my seat. Phenomenally done!
