Saints Row 2 (abbreviated to SR2) is a sandbox-style action-adventure video game developed by Volition, Inc. and published by THQ. It is the second title in the Saints Row series. The game follows the unnamed protagonist — referred to as male in this article — who leads a fictional street gang known as the 3rd Street Saints, to whom he followed in Saints Row until he was betrayed and landed in a trauma-induced coma after a staged yacht explosion. After escaping from prison five years later and bringing the Saints to power again, the protagonist takes on the gangs who now control the city Stilwater on a quest to bring it to the Saints' power, who had controlled it in Saints Row. The game is composed of elements from third-person shooters and driving games in open world gameplay. The main game can be played through in single-player or through online co-operative play. The game also contains competitive multiplayer modes.

Volition rock if this blog post on idolninja is anything to go by. Apparently according to a chain of emails between "idol" and crew from Volition LA (Jeff Thompson, the Studio Director of Programming, Alex Mejia and Steve Jaros), mod support will be coming to Saint's Row 2 and 3 as a "test run" in the lead up to Saint's Row IV release. To quote idol:

Quote:So, what does this actually mean to the average Saints Row player? In simple terms, the modding community will finally be able to create and offer new clothing, new vehicles, new guns, new npcs, new missions, and even new world geometry which will greatly extend the life of the series and enhance the Saints Row games in ways we never even dared to dream of.

Huge thanks go out to the gaming community who pushed this (and idol the primary architect), no doubt this is a decision that Volition will be reaping the rewards from once the work is done and the tools are out. For discussion check out the modding wishlist thread. Very exciting stuff, with PC gaming stronger than ever it's great to see developers returning to their roots and bringing modding back!

o i can tell you with out being a asshat.
The game for the PC for start the most people have this game is for steam. The game does not have auto-save with is a problem and the car driving lags.the game is to easy even on the hardiest mode.

The pc for steam game is where most people hate it for the one reason
it crashes and plus the fact it does not auto save.A days worth of game play is lost.Which is bunch of bull **** i don't want to save the game every mission because i don't want to stop playing that's y it needs autosave. The other reason it glitch's too mush. The guy keeps falling with is annoying i rather die then fall on the floor it ******* me off.The game is ok its not **** but it like they did not test this dam game right.

The game itself is actually pretty decent on Xbox 360 not to sure about the PS3 Version but i got the PC version cheap after thoroughly enjoying the 360 version and it had to be one of the worst ports i had ever seen in my life. They totally ruined the feel of the game there were too many bugs on the PC version and the driving was ruined in the process.

Apart from all that its good, basically if u want to play this game get it on a console but I'm not too sure about the ps3 version so 360 is safe.

It's a good game, but the PC version is so sooooooo terrible. Ported by CD Project, so remember to mail them faeces in a bag.
