Hey there!
Al Tabul -multiplayer madness on Sunday June 9, 6:00 pm UTC, don't forget! Keep this Itsalmo.st open on Sunday, it's handy!
0.89 is out with some great updates! First, we've got the sixth map in now, "Al Tabul", which is a desert themed assault map with plenty of tanks and other vehicles, we even added a few stationary weapons for the defense.
Second, we've got the third faction in the game, and this means you can get those multi-faction battles going on easily now. From my experience, Stalemate and Sainte-Anne make just perfect match for 3 factions; had a great time fighting over the central bases when every faction is attacking to the same location, just hilarious!
The map view has gone through some improvements, zooming is now supported on mouse wheel and from keys which has been needed for quite a while now with the map being a bit tight for all the icons we have in there these days. We're also starting to experiment with how the map view should actually look like, and 0.89 features the first iteration of that work.
Spotting mechanic has been added now too, so if you're one of those players who end up strolling behind the enemy lines causing all sorts of mayhem by assaulting their less defended bases, destroying the enemy comms truck or stealing their cargo truck (note, cargo truck theft is only in Invasion online currently), you also get rewards from your faction by locating their vehicles, just hover the crosshair on the vehicle to identify it. This also means for multiplayer that other players will see the vehicles in their map and get notified about them.
All right, that concludes the major new gameplay changes for 0.89, there's at least 30 other bug fixes or additions, check out the full change log here.

The demo features the single player mode from the full beta with the second map included, with some weapon, rank and difficulty limitations.
The demo includes all the features in the full beta 0.4, except online multiplayer. The demo was initially released on September 16th 2011. The full beta...

This is a great game. I've described it to friends as a combination between General Chaos, Cannon Fodder, a rather obscure but innovative game called Net War and once vehicles are added, even a touch of Warhawk. On top of all of this, the developer is great and really listens to the community.

It can take up to a few hours for tweets to begin appearing.
Just to note, 0.88.2 should be out soon, should fix those map change/online join (which cause a map change) crashes
I'm suprised how much fun this game is! The learning curve is really low, so you can just jump into the action but mastering it perfectly takes some more time, which keeps it interesting for a longer period of time. It's also a great game for LAN, because of it's size (download, install and play takes no more than 3 minutes) and accessibility.
This would be an instant winner if future versions would have different gamemodes and maybe a single player campaign.
Single player campaign is certainly being worked on, we've been testing the coop version of it on a few servers online. The single player variation will likely differ a bit from it eventually, allowing traveling between maps and having multiple maps under active battle.
Shouldn't take too long now to get the basic linear version of it included in the releases.
We've also been doing some preparations for game modes, soon mods and servers will be able to use a variety of tricks to make the game work under different rules than "capture the map to win".
It is interesting... I though this game will be a simple arcade like Cannon Fodder or Army Men like (or inspired from them)
But now it goes more and more complicated, new features...
So what is about game setting, these cartoony visuals and green army vs grey army??
Mostly the new features are optional for people who seek something more in-depth, you are still allowed and at times encouraged to just simply run & gun; the basic mechanism hasn't changed.
We're not wanting to make this another Axis & Allied war game so currently we are at Green vs Grey. It allows us to keep the setting open until we know what we want and can do with the background story for the final release.
There are already mods that take the other route by adding USMC, Russian OMON, Chinese PLA, British factions with skins and names, check it out here Modulaatio.com
Visuals are cartoony for the reason that it allows more creative use with colors than "real life", and, you know, cartoony is light-hearted and fun. This isn't the serious war game.

Your game being discussed here.
You might want to provide a little more information than that if you want them to check it out.
RWR has been suggested as a future featured game on IndieGameStand. If anyone would like to chip in (devs particularly!), check out the link! Indiegamestand.com
hi guys, we already discussed that internally and we came to the conclusion that "pay what you want" offers isn't really what we are looking for, at least not in the beta phase and neither in the couple of months right after the final steam release. It would bring some new players to fill the multiplayer servers, sure but this might be achieved with other solutions which seems more suitable like getting some footage done by bigger youtube personalities where we got some positive feedback but unfortunately nothing happened (yet?).
Perfectly understandable, I'll let the community know for now (should keep people from bugging you :P). For the record, I bought this a while ago, and I think it's fantastic. Can't wait to see it take off!
I really love how much progress this game made already!, Keep up the good work Jack!
