Primary website is

Roleplay 2 is a standalone game that is built off the good old SAGE engine (specifically the version that C&C Renegade used). When the project was first started the aim was to bring Grand Theft Auto style gameplay to C&C Renegade (This was done mostly because back in 2003 when the project was statured GTA didn’t have its own multiplayer yet).

However, now that GTA has its own multiplayer, Rp2 doesn’t exactly hold the goal of being a GTA spinoff so much anymore, true it still does have some very GTA like features in it, but in many other ways its far different.

Rp2’s gameplay has changed much over the years, back in the day it was primarily a sandbox map, where the player could just build a lot of stuff. On occasion there was still some fighting (Deathmatch) but players mostly just screwed around on the map and built stuff.

As of the last year however, I’ve been working on rebalancing the weapons in the game, as well as making it so the server keeps records of who has the most kills and other stuff, so that players feel there is something to compete for. In addition to standard Free for all gameplay many players will probably want to explore the massive landmasses Rp2 has, finding the many weapons and vehicles, as well as any other secrets that may be hidden from the player.

The build servers are still around for Rp2, although for the most part they are empty, it’s a fairly old mod after all, and much of the player base on C&C Renegade had their fun with Rp2 a long time ago.

*A massive land mass that’s 100,000x150,000 meters to explore (true much of that is water, but you can swim so… yeah).
*Over 100 (107 was my last exact count) different weapons and items for the player to use.
*Over 47 different player controllable vehicles which include: Tanks, Cars, Motorcycles, Boats, Hovercraft, Helicopters, Jets, VTOLs, hot air balloons, and Mechs.
*Fishing, Cashier, Train Conductor, and Police Officer jobs to make it easy for the player to make money.
*Smart AI that can drive vehicles, form teams, and decided if they like a player or not based on the players actions.
*Houses that can be bought by the player, and be customized to their liking, only down side is that there is a imitated supply as far as the houses are concerned (However 2 more have been added in the standalone release!). You can also spawn from your house which helps speed up your ability to move around the map.
*The phone is one of the most useful pieces of equipment you can have on Rp2, it allows you to transfer money into the bank, call other players, buy houses, purchase vehicles and weapons, trigger certain weapons, and many other things!
*An inventory system that C&C Renegade had previously never seen the likes of. You have an inventory size limit which can be expanded by buying a backpack or usage of remote storage (the starting size limit is 10, but can easily be increased to a max of 135). You can drop weapons and items, as well as set your own favorite weapon for easy purchase at a later time. The inventory system allows the player to carry up to 50 weapons (only 50 because the good old SAGE engine has a flaw that caused the players all to lose connection to the server if you pushed many more weapons then 50). The inventory system allows for not only a size on the weapons, but their ammo as well. One of the biggest gains of the system is that when you die you keep all your weapons for your next life (10% ammo reduction applicable to all weapons and you still drop the one you were holding at the time of death).
*And many more things, don’t want to list it all after all, I’d ruin the adventure :p

Rp2 Team:
Over the years the project has switched hands as far as who’s in control several times, it started off with Napalmic, then was transferred over to Canadacdn, then after a few years it went back to Napalmic, and then finally Jerad gained control of the mod, and that brings it up to the preset.

Even though the project lead has switched many times, the primary (and original) 3D modeler has remained the same, Blazea58 who created C&C_Roleplay.mix is still with us today, and still working away on Roleplay2.

Our newest addition to the team is Brandan, who is currently working on a program to list the on-line servers. It might end up being a little hacky, but sense it was a rather short term request I don’t blame him for the results.

Full Rp2 Team:
- Blazea58; lead modeler and texture artist.
- Brandan; Constructor of the Roleplay2 Client and the Roleplay2 Broadcaster.
- Canadacdn; 2nd Leveledit guy, and does a lot of other random things.
- Jerad Gray; 3rd Leveledit guy, Scripting and some minor modeling.
- Napalmic; 1st Leveledit guy, terrain mesh adjuster.
- SlikRik; Promotions, sound.
- As well as many testers.

More fun in ECW! More fun in ECW! More fun in ECW!

Today I would like to announce that ECW would be merging with W3D Hub. This is an exciting move for us as it should get us some better attention and will further integrate us with the Renegade community (Something we lost when we moved to standalone).

This will mean many changes for the web based parts of ECW, the plan is to drop use of these forums and our own sub forum will be created inside of the W3DHub forums. We will be keeping the ECW homepage and online score system, and the player records will still be stored locally on our server.

While this does come at the cost of our own forums we gain much more in return:
*ECW will be part of the W3DHub launcher, which will also list TSR, BFD, AR and hopefully even stock Renegade. Having ECW listed on the launcher will mean more players will see the ECW server and give it a try, in addition, it will also mean that it’ll be easier to see when players are in game (whether it be ECW or another w3d based game) thus allowing the player community to be much more active.
*The activity on W3DHub’s forums is much higher, meaning every user post will get far more attention.
*The PR capabilities of W3D Hub far out weight what we had going for ourselves (or at least is more organized).

While it will probably still be a month at least before we make the switch (this is just a guess, who knows, it could happen next week). I would still like everyone in the ECW community to go and register at . The W3DLauncher will eventually use the forum logins to allow you to join the ECW server (much like our current launcher does) so it’ll be best if you reserve your user names sooner rather than later. Also, please let me know when you register, I’d like to make sure anyone that was staff here on the forums is at least tester level on W3D Hub, that way you can all enjoy fresh releases form TSR and ECW before they hit the public.

With that said, I must apologize for the server down times, and the lack of production ECW has been seeing the past few months. I recently became part of Tiberium Technologies and have been spending a lot of time working on base Renegade (adding new features and other thins that will hopefully be used by ECW someday). As for ECW, I have been doing a little bit of work on it, and there is a lot of new content that I have had sitting around, that just never got pushed as I have not got a patch ready, I’ll post all this new info when ECW makes its first post on the W3D Hub forums!

P.S. We plan to play a few rounds of ECW tonight, any one that is available should join so we can see just how high we can get that player count! The planned time is in about 5 hours (4:30 Central Time).

We felt we could grow more and faster without any restrictions that pkg or mix provided (Plus, ren has been slowly dying :( it saddens me but I was tired of not being able to play whenever xwis went down).

Trust me this is a very anticipated experience for us. We would like to release it but we want it to be stable first so you can truly enjoy it. We're getting very close and it's looking good so far, just hold on a lil longer!

Plus I want all of Blazea's new stuff in it. Technically, I could make some massive updates, but it just has not happened, when Blazea uploads his pictures of the game I'll be able to post some new stuff with that I suppose.

Just took a look at the mod pics for the first time, looks stunning!

I still have Command and Conquer the first decade lying around somewhere, if I re-installed renegade would there be any servers up or people on it?

Is there a singleplayer mode or any AI on multi?

Great job guys!

Brandan Sep 23 2012 replied:

Both. However the single player mode is exactly the same as multiplayer but you choose how everything operates. I'll post some tutorials on how to get that working on the release coming up.

Thanks, it is undergoing a lot of changes; I have a few more new buildings to add in, possibly more depending how much our 3D modeler gets done, and then I'll be ready for another internal test, and then possibly a release.

It’s just that many of the changes I've been making lately are in the code to either add new features or improve performance; and most new features I add aren't that interesting to be shown in a news update.

Been there.. and no servers are online

Brandan May 12 2012 replied:

Its not dead, just Jerad wont release the newer release to the public until its finished and my servers kinda moved away from that old version and adapted to the newer one. In addition our servers are not online on the newer one due to no users have been active on it for 4 months so It's saving us money until it becomes popular again.

JeradGray May 16 2012 replied:

It’s not that I won't release until Rp2 is finished, it’s just I won't release until I think this release is finished ;p

Plus it needs to be very stable, as that is one of the main things that make people leave the server.

Great mod, for a great game. Now it's going standalone and it's free for everyone! If you have a computer, I highly recommend you download this fun and enjoyable multiplayer experience. There are many different vehicles to drive, ranging from a Bugatti supercar, to a Comanche, to a Madcat from Mechwarrior. There will be a vehicle in this game that you throughly enjoy. Over a hundred different weapons for people to enjoy inhabit this game. Most realistic deplictions of firearms, some are just silly…
