Rotion is an addictive game where the aim is to clear shapes by getting to the middle and popping them. Relax in free play and Single, play through the Campaign, challenge your friends in Splitscreen, or take on Survival and see how long you can last...

The C++ port is progressing nicely, with most of the gametype logic copied over (if only it were as simple as copying..!). The only sizable things left to do now are the menus and the Campaign gametype.
Here's what it looks like:
(See if you can spot the new AI type near the end...)
As you can see, it looks almost identical to the C# version. Success! I didn't show Splitscreen or Single in the video, but rest assured that they are both in and very playable. Using C++/SFML has allowed for some pretty neat stuff, like pitch-bending sounds and music during slow-mo powerups.
Once the Windows version is fully functional, I can start working on ports to Mac and Linux. There's only a very small section of code that has to be rewritten for each platform, and it's all in the same file to make things easier.
If everything goes to plan, I'll be replacing the alpha on Desura with the C++ version when it's ready. I'm sure there'll be a ton of bugs to fix but that's what alphas are for! In the meantime, the C# version is still available now for those who pre-order:

Facepunch!
Hi, looks really interesting, but I'm hesitating a buy because it says:
"Pre-order your copy and get full access to upcoming Alphas!"
-> Does the preorder include the final version and every future version, or just "alpha-versions" of the game?
Thanks for your help!
It includes every alpha until the proper 'release', and then the final version too :-)
Oh, I'm really interested in this alpha but... Have anyone tested yet Xbox 360 (wireless) compability in Linux?
I'm fairly certain no-one's tested that as there is no Linux version yet :)
Looks like a great game, will try when I am back at home with my windows comp - sad you wont port to linux, but completely understandable
Check the latest news article - it's still very possible :-)
any chances this game will get on Steam? I got a CD key for the game from a contest, but never used Desura because all my games are on Steam. I will try Desura anyhow, but running Desura, Steam, and Origin will be heavy on my system =/
Thanks for replies! :)
That's really up to Valve. I'd love to get on Steam but they've already turned me down once - I'm going to reapply when the alpha is over though.
damn that sucks =/.... Good luck to you =)
