Hi everybody, Ilves here. It's a couple of day left till Christmas\end of IOTY-2013. It's already an honour to us thanks to you to reach in top-100 most popular indies and a huge motivation to work harders, faster, better next year. Now let's get back to the story in our previous update.
Ostslavic Special Prison complex #7, somewhere near New Arkaim
"Sitting in a captivity wasn't something totally new to me. Back in the 90's I served as a mercenary in the Russian-Chechen wars. And though it wasn't in my official records - one of those days I was captured by the rebels hardly alive and kept underground for 50 days, during which I lost 20 kg.
This time I had the honour to evaluate the comfort of my native Ostslavic prison facilities. As in Chechnya: in case I die here - nobody will even know about this outside.
My cellmate Ivo is a former Ostslavic Security Service officer and knows the plan of the facility and hence - our possible way out. No doubt every cell is taped - we discuss things using sign language, which we both used to learn in the Military Academy. I've discussed several times with Ivo that we should try our escape plan as soon as possible, because we have no guess for how long are we needed here alive - if anylong at all. Ivo argues that according to his sources, this prison is going to be soon cleaned out - the inmates are going to be sent in the secret prison complex in Lithuania. He also pretends to be in contact with still active Ostslavic secret agents who are in digust with the new regime and would be eager to organize our escape en route.
Either way this is a Russian roulette - all you can do is to try your luck and forget about any guarantees. Except that in our situation this is a revolver with 5 bullets loaded, instead of 1.
Damned, if not to save our butts - at least we need to tell the world the truth about the Ostslavic new regime."
to be continued.
Lastly we've started work on civilian objects, but this doesn't mean the units will be forgotten: this update introduces the light, customizable and versatile Sprut light tank, which can be air-dropped from cargo planes or brought by carryalls and and the mighty Su-25 Frogfoot which makes short work of enemy armored columns without air defense.
Hey, aside from that I'd like to share my interest with several other moddb projects I personally adore and wish support to them.
Firstly, it's the graphical reincarnation of Generals - Generals Evolution, which brings the old tired game to a new level thanks to RA3 improved engine. You might like to check it out - the screenshots are pure thermonuclear reaction and its main author - Gunship, has made a really large bucket of work already.
Next project is... also a remake of Generals, but this time the author attempts to use C&C3 engine (which in his opinion is more fitting for the task) and to recreate this as a sort of Generals 1.5 - whith new units, Generals and such.
You might want to check out both to compare how the same old game is remade in two different fashions.
Now speaking of IOTY-2013: votes are still accepted here, so if you wanna support us with your vote... well, that would be nice :P Click here and then click "Vote" next to your favorite game(s).
