Rising Storm is a mod for the soon-to-be-released title from Tripwire Interactive, Heroes of Stalingrad. It will bring the intense and realistic firefighting of 'Heroes of Stalingrad' to the Pacific Theater, 1942-45, pitting the US Army and Marine Corps against the Imperial Japanese Army and Special Naval Landing Forces. The bloody multiplayer battles will be fought out across the Pacific from the Philippines through to Okinawa and will feature all the innovations of 'HoS' and a few more of its own. The development team features some of the leading lights of the Red Orchestra modders along with some very strong candidates from the various CG communities that can be found across the world. There are over 20 of the top 'stars of the future' on the team, thanks to the support of Tripwire. The mod team team have been given advance access to the development tools to bring all the latest features of the Unreal engine to bear on this project, promising a superlative gaming experience.

I don't think he's pointing out any short comings just saying it would be nice to move onto a new engine.

Killing Floor 2 from TWI would be better in that case. Not only new engine but new features, new characters, new weapons, new maps, new etc., etc.

A DH port on RO2 would be so epic !!!

The way it is now even an Osfront port would be a hundred times better than what RO2 vanilla has to offer.

And maybe people would actually play the game.

Afaik the Darkest Hour guys are working on DH2 based on UDK... so a port to RO2 would be pointless imho since they have access to a much newer version of Unreal Engine 3...but I agree with you that it would be awesome to get that DH/RO1 feeling back...especially since RO2 was such a disappointment!

why does every moron want a zombie mod? if you wanted zombies, you bought the wrong game, stupid.

but anyway, this will be great for the mapping community.

Not reallyyy, I kinda brought RO2 just for the mods lol and a zombie one is one of them not because of Nazi zombies but for the simple fact that I love zombies! If there is the possibility of a zombie mod for people that like zombie mods then no they did not buy the wrong game.....

Why I've been a fan of tactical shooters since first RainbowSix, and still enjoy zombie games ... Don't be such an ***.

Anyway It's safe to say Tripwire, after the success of Killing Floor which I do enjoy a lot, will make something on the UE3.

Let's hope they won't **** up and then act like huge ***** toward their community like they did with RO2.

At last! Now the game can finally be resurrected! I was sick and tired of the censorship. Not to mention the German symbol...those wings are ridiculous, they should have at least let a simple Iron Cross instead of that :(

I doubt there will be a whole lot of mods seeing as 95% of RO2's player base is bots. I'll stick to Ost-Front, DH, and MN.
