Red Alert: A Path Beyond brings the exciting storyline and epic clashes from the classic Westwood Studios game, Command & Conquer: Red Alert to realm of first person shooters, with a twist. We've remained loyal to the style and feel of the 1996 classic, while integrating content from its expansions Counterstrike and The Aftermath with a bit of updated history to add to the mix. Built off the W3d engine Westwood Studios built for classics such as Earth & Beyond and Command & Conquer: Renegade finished up in 2001, we help bring the fight to you as you play out your role as any one of a number of infantry classes participating in team-based combat that often involves land, sea, and air combined-arms clashes that just don't happen in any other game. Oh, and did we mention it is FREE?

The game has a few problems with it. The engine is outdated. There aren't alot of players playing in the servers. The buildings are too big and sometimes take a while to get out. If you die, and spawn in the refinery, you sometimes have to wait for the elevator to come up to get out.

Game looks great! Way better than most of the things you get on the mac app store.

A very promising shooter, ambitious and loads of content, but the engine is a bit outdated.

When I first reviewed the game, I was medicorely impressed and one of my issues with it was the reality the dev team working on 3 projects at once.

However, almost monthly updated and new content continually in the works, that complaint is completely nullified.

New concepts like NPC Techs, a return of Naval, and more significant use of buildings has completely changed my mind on it.
