Red Alert: A Path Beyond brings the exciting storyline and epic clashes from the classic Westwood Studios game, Command & Conquer: Red Alert to realm of first person shooters, with a twist. We've remained loyal to the style and feel of the 1996 classic, while integrating content from its expansions Counterstrike and The Aftermath with a bit of updated history to add to the mix. Built off the W3D engine Westwood Studios built for classics such as Earth & Beyond and Command & Conquer: Renegade finished up in 2001, we help bring the fight to you as you play out your role as any one of a number of infantry classes participating in team-based combat that often involves land, sea, and air combined-arms clashes that just don't happen in any other game. Oh, and did we mention it's FREE?

Description

A shot from RA_CoastalInfluence (a r34ch map). As you can see here we've got some actual modeled out ore instead of just a badly faded texture on the ground. I think it adds a lot for something so simple, and helps make the scene look more natural. It'll also make ore easier to spot from afar, because right now it may as well just be more grass.

Coastal Influence, I think we've mentioned before. Chronojam told you back in July that he'd feature it in a blog but then he ended up having PA fill in for him on the next two blogs... you never really got a look at it. It's a naval map as the name might have suggested to you, but there's a lot of land war to be had of course. There is a destructable bridge just outside the Soviet base, guarded closely by a Tesla Coil. You could probably pull some ships into the lake area if you decide it's worth blowing the bridge out of the way.
