Red Alert: A Path Beyond brings the exciting storyline and epic clashes from the classic Westwood Studios game, Command & Conquer: Red Alert to realm of first person shooters, with a twist. We've remained loyal to the style and feel of the 1996 classic, while integrating content from its expansions Counterstrike and The Aftermath with a bit of updated history to add to the mix. Built off the W3d engine Westwood Studios built for classics such as Earth & Beyond and Command & Conquer: Renegade finished up in 2001, we help bring the fight to you as you play out your role as any one of a number of infantry classes participating in team-based combat that often involves land, sea, and air combined-arms clashes that just don't happen in any other game. Oh, and did we mention it is FREE?
Improved download, repair, and patch support for TS:Reborn and RA:APB. Note: This installer can skip any .NET 4 Framework installation issues, but users will need to correct any problems by downloading and installing the .NET 4 Framework from Microsoft's own website.
These features (and others) have been improving as time goes on, and we will continue to introduce new features such as public statistics tracking, installing older versions of our games for nostalgic purposes, a chat lobby, and more.
Simply install the Launcher where you wish to install your games. Games will be downloaded into a subfolder of the Launcher's own installation directory. It will require administrator access to use.
1. If you already have any BHP releases installed, such as a copy of RA:APB 2.1.2, they will be detected and moved to the new location when you run the Launcher.
2. If you are looking to install a new release, simply select the game and click to Install the public build. If you've been given testing access, you can also Install the latest test build.
3. If you have a Bluehellproductions.com account, you can log in with that information. In the future that will be used for stats and more, and it is required to download test builds. If you don't have one, we encourage you to make one!
There is a chance that installation of the .NET 4 Framework "Client Profile" may fail depending on your computer configuration. You will be able to continue installation, however the Launcher may not run properly until you ensure you've got a working installation of the .NET 4 Client Profile. This is available directly from Microsoft, and you are not required to download the .NET 4 Full Profile -- just the Client Profile is sufficient and has the necessary libraries.
If your Launcher unexpectedly closes or displays any error messages, please let us know! You can find an error report in the folder where you installed it -- probably C:\Program Files (x86)\Bluehell Productions -- with the filename bhp_launcher_errors.log and then submit that error report, along with a short bug report to tell us how it happened, to our bug tracker
If any of the installed games have an error, you can submit them to our bug tracker, too! In the case of severe errors, game crash dumps will appear in your My Documents\BlueHell folder, in a debug subfolder for the particular game you were playing. So if you were playing RA:APB, find your crash log in My Documents\BlueHell\APBClient\debug -- you may be asked for these if we cannot reproduce your error.
