Command & Conquer Red Alert 2: Apocalypse Rising, brings Westwood Studios' popular real time strategy game, C&C: Red Alert 2 into the FPS pespective, using the w3d engine. You will be able to experience, first hand, what it feels like to fill the boots of an Allied GI battling the communist might of the Soviet Union, or a Soviet Conscript vowing to take back what was lost to the Allies during the first great war. Classic units return such as the versatile Allied IFV to the mighty Soviet Apocalypse Assualt Tank to the gargantuan Allied Aircraft Carrier to the mad Giant Squids. This game features all of the units and structures for the Allied and Soviet sides from both RA2 and the Yuri's Revenge Expansion. The Apocalypse is Rising Commander. Are you prepared for it? Hello everyone! As the title suggests, W3D Hub is looking for testers. There are some big projects being worked on and we'll be needing internal testers to test out big updates before they reach the servers. Not only that, but some projects will be needing a lot of testing before they can even be released at all (Example: Apocalypse Rising). So why don't you come and join us during our testing sessions?

Deadline for applications: April the 3rd.


So how do you become a tester?

If you want to be a tester you will have to meet some requirements and send our lead tester (Nodlied), a pm on the forums.

What do I put in the pm?
There will be a few questions that you will need to answer. Please use the format below and answer the questions by sending Nodlied, One_Winged_Angel, TeamWolf or WallyWood a PM on the forums or me here on Indie/ModDB.

Extra information we should know about you:

Other than that, there are a few requirements for joining our internal testing team.
You have to have a W3D Hub forum account.
- How else would you join us in the tester forums?

You have to have a Skype account.
- We use skype daily to chat about the projects as well as to quickly call upon our testers. We do not use the voice chat function, only the text based chat.

You have to have Team Speak 3.
- We use teamspeak during testing sessions to make sure everything goes according to plan and to communicate with each other effectively. You don't need a microphone and you do not need to speak. As long as you have the ability to listen, you should be fine. (We'd would appreciate it if you do have a microphone!)

You have to be able to enjoy our games.
- In return for your services, we offer you early access to our games and if you don't like them, why even bother signing up?

While you do not need it, we would be happy if you have an IRC client and know how IRC works. Again, this isn't a necessity.

Are you the world's best tester?

Testing is a world of ups and downs. Sometimes there will be nothing to test while at other times, projects will compete for testing time. Some testing sessions consist out of bug and code testing while others revolve around good old gameplay. Is testing online and offline no problem for you? Then send in that PM of yours and maybe you'll join our new testing team!

Yes! The game is primarily multiplayer and the Ore Miners are AI units.

There will be enemy AI infantry and vehicles in a practice map. This is quite a highly demanded feature, so it will be in the game upon release!

Not all of the levels will be present, but we will try our best to recreate the ones that stand out. For example, I'd like to include the level with the Psychic Amplifier at some point.

Thankyou great and mighty Soviet Premier! We hope that the BIG RUSSIAN MISSILES in our game will make any Allied coward duck and cover! We will try our best to keep providing a steady flow of sneaky devices without using a Chronosphere to invade Moscow.

I figured that would be the ultimate solution. Can't have 3 faction per map, but can have different versions of maps with the 3 sides taking turns in 1v1. Interesting idea, but there's more to it than that. Yuri as a faction would be very hard to balance (it was already horrendously imbalanced in YR). Not to mention certain technologies and logics that just wouldn't work, like mind control. The Soviets can do without mind control. Yuri cannot.

Radar-tech Yuri would certainly be possible. Pretty much everything before the Masterminds and Psychic Towers. (Multiple mind control would be a pain in the arse to implement!)
