Recruits is a squad based top down shooter. Inspired by games like Cannon Fodder, Alien Swarm and Jagged Alliance Recruits puts players on the front lines of the battlefield to accomplish your missions through any means necessary. Fast paced and packed with explosions, Recruits offers a wide variety of features that allow you, and your friends to take command of the action and lead your men to victory.
As players progress through the game they will gain ranks and respect amongst their fellow soldiers, giving them bonus abilities, unlocked items and perks to better defeat their enemies. The main aim for the player is to complete their missions and gain as many kill points as possible. The higher the rank of the player, the more efficient soldier they are, giving the team a better chance of surviving the missions and ultimately the war.
In each level, players will have to move out, saving POW's and civilians, avoiding traps, searching out and killing Enemy Soldiers, destroying enemy buildings and vehicles in order to safely get extracted from the battlefield.
Recruits is an action packed Top Down Shooter that will deliver you and your friends to the front lines of brutal combat situations.
We are very sorry for the lack of information coming out of here lately. We can now pick it all up again as we have made some progress towards the Steam tests. So the development log will be short this week but its the start of more to come. I might have said that before but this is truly the last little push to get it to you guys.
Here are some small gif's on the things you will see from the Steam Tests and Release in the Multiplayer Level.
We are finalizing some menu stuff and then we will be ready to hand out the keys for testing. We are just making sure everything goes smoothly and then we will get stuck right into it.
The multiplayer map will have some cool little features in it that we will be showing over the next week and through testing. One of these features is the interior spaces for the huts. We have rigged up the huts to have see-through roofs and it will really allow for some interesting gameplay in this level.
Also we have our flow maps working nicely now on our levels. Here is a little image of them and how they look in the final game.
Again we are so sorry for the lack of updates and will get you more and more now as we are finding more time to put into Recruits and the release on Steam.
