Basically if you support us now for $4.95, you get - the full game once it is complete, access to the current alpha version, and every update we do up untill the game is complete.

Is the alpha a sandbox type thing or a part of a linear storyline?

3dRobbo Jul 24 2012, 1:17am replied:

There are 3 levels you can run around in with a whole bunch of enemies to kill, weapons to find like a Minigun, Flame Thrower, Grenade Launcher etc. Plus we are releasing the Tank in the next update, it is great to drive around and blow stuff up with.

More levels are coming soon, abilities like airstrikes and ammo drops are also on the way. Plenty to do now and lots more to look forward to.

I mean like, if I get the alpha, am I going to be playing through a storyline before the game launches? Essentially, I am asking because, if the game is story-centric, then I would be 'ruining' the story by not being able to fully experience it while I play the earlier levels. However, if this game is more sandbox oriented and not so concerned with story, then I will get this alpha.

Ahh ok I understand. The levels you will be getting are here and future updates are in addition to the levels that will be in the campaigns. You would not be ruining any of the story by playing the alpha. Also we are adding more to make the alpha more sandboxy so it has higher replay ability.

Ok, let me rephrase the question. At final release, do these levels fit into a campaign story, and will these levels be better on release (in terms of quality and/or features)?

Nope they are just "alpha" levels. But we will include them on final release at a better quality etc like you mentioned above :)

Ok, so that means they are meant as sandbox type levels that are mainly to demonstrate the gameplay?

A question I have is if there is the ability to gib enemies with explosives and higher caliber weaponry?

3dRobbo Jul 24 2012, 5:43am replied:

Yes, pistols and low caliber weapons do not gib enemies. Grenades, mines, minigun, shotgun etc all can gib the enemy in different ways. This will also be improved on in future updates.

Maybe I'm just blind, but I paid for the alpha but I cannot figure out how to play the game... do they send a code in email? How long does that take? Both the desura client and website are still trying to make me pay for the game instead of letting me install it. Anyone know how it's supposed to work?

You may need to restart the client so it knows you now own the game.

Odd enough, there are no games tied to your account on Desura: Desura.com
If you paid and you got the payment confirmation e-mail, it already should be added to your account (and visible on it).
