Realm Explorer will be a computer game about creation in the fantasy universe of Gnostaria; your creations. In perhaps the most dynamic sandbox world yet to be conceived you will be able to dig the soil and mine ore, precious metals and gems all in a beautiful and dynamic 3D world. The terrain will shape and form to your actions. Drive a shovel into the ground and watch the earth give way. Heave your pickaxe into a cave wall and see the stone disintegrate before you; revealing the treasure beneath. Go on adventures alone or with friends via internet multiplayer and craft weapons, armor, tools and other items. How you play is up to you. The possibilities are limitless.
Ok, this is an alpha. It shows promise. It has multi as well as single player. BUT...
When trying to create single player world I was suddenly requested to get microsoft .NET 4.5 framework. Why is dependencies not installed with the game?
The UI do not scale very well. I played in 720p Window (recording purposes) and the text was extreeemly small and barly readable. BUT on the other hand the intro screen, graphics of the floating island (as well as music) was very good indeed.
I did not have an account so I went for single player. This however turned out to be a let down. When I finally had a test world generated and a guy standing in it there was not much to do there. The world was ok looking but extremly barren. I could use pick axe and shovel but there was no visable evidence of me doing anything. I got the material and such but that was it. The sound worked but also that was very "un alive" so to speak.
As far as I see it this is a prototype of concept. Nothing more. It might be more in the future. FAR into the future. I'll keep an eye at it during the mean time. But for now: do NOT spend any money on this project which you can not afford to be without. At present time you will not get a game. Keep this in mind!
