Incredible robot sim. The game is already amazing in this under-developed state, and it will only get better. What really boggles my mind is the versatility of the parts. You want to build a lunar lander that can travel through space from planet to planet? I did that yesterday. Want to make a dragonfly that actually flies? Go ahead and beat me to it. If you like robotics, design, maybe a little architecture, or just like awesome robots fighting, building, exploring, mining, even terraforming, the…

This is not a game at all. At best it is a prototype. It is FAR from even being close to being ready. This should be free or not listed at all. it looks nice graphically and it is easy to see it holds alot of promise. But this needs ALOT of work. At the moment it is a waste of money to pay for something with so little substance. Even if the dev means well. Work on it and make a kickstarter or something. Then give this as a bonus perk to doners.

why do you have to buy it? :(
This has probably been asked already but, if I bought the $10 pre-release of this game, am I missing out on anything that the $30 version has?
All you had to do to find the answer was to read the most recent news. Oh well, i guess it`s too much for some ppl :P
I thnk the devs posted here that they were going to "bite the bullet" and allow folks who paid $10 on Desure to have the same access as those who paid more. And the price changed recently from 10 to 29.99 here on Desura.
Hey folks!
I am Trook and already addicted to the game =)
By time, it happened that i am a mod of the official forum atm, which means, i am reading every single post there, but be sure that i am also a real rawbots player ;D
Many ppls, buying the game here, have the same questions, confusing their minds...
So, i tried to setup a post which should answer as many questions as possible:
(I pasted it here, because i'm not sure if the post is accessible without a registration)
"The only difference between buying it on desura and buying it from the hp (rawbots) here atm is, that desura buyers do not get the VIP passport. This means they still can play the same latest version, but you can't access some sections like the early releases. This section for e.g. contains some different and atm older releases with many experimental stuff and so on.
The devs mentioned already, that desura buyers may be able to upgrade to the VIPpassport. You don't have to worry, that you wont get payed for your money. Atm there is a big bunch of features the devs are working on and the confusion, caused by the desura offer, is one of these things.
Some ppls seem to be disappointed about the content the game offers, for the price they payed, right now.
First of all, please realize that this is still pre-alpha and buying the game means to pledge the money into the games development progress. This also means, that you will have a lot of benefits, which other players, buying the game later on its official release, wont have.
I would also recommend, if you aren't familiar with "in-progress" games, to wait until the game becomes a bit more userfriendly.
You could already enjoy to have a quite well working robots crafting sandbox.
There aren't ingame tutorials right now, but there are only a few things to get familiar with, to be able to craft your bots.
Quite all of these things can be found in here.

Hopefully many questions are answered now :)
Have fun =)
This reminds me of Roboforge, hopefully it turns out as good as that was! :)
Does this have any level of multiplayer at the moment? Me and a friend would love to play this together, even in Alpha.
You can't do multiplayer but if you make a bot that automoves you could create a place to fight, and beat eachothers places. The maps should be in your rawbot's documents folder, the biggest file is the map file. Currently its called stardust
The multiplayer has not yet been added onto the alpha although it should be added in pretty soon after the physics have been finished, so possibly in the next couple of months.
Let me know when its on sale...
