id Software's Rage combines first-person shooting, vehicular action, and "open but directed" exploration in a post-apocalyptic world, to tell the story of Earth's wretched civilization after a cataclysmic meteor strike. Militaristic authority figures, freedom-fighting rebels, criminal raiders, and twisted mutants battle each other for control of the barren wasteland Earth has become. This is the first game to feature the new id Tech 5 engine.

John Carmack went on to note that the game was originally going to feature several wastelands, but the limitations of the 360's DVDs required the developer to cut them down to two. These changes were made for all versions of the game... The game got lots of flack for its rather linear experience, eventhough it seemed open-ended from the talk of it being a "sandbox"... the final product seems quite far from what is a traditional sandbox. It got a DLC, Wasteland Sewer Missions but for the xbox 360 only. A new DLC entitled Scorcher was released on December 18th.

dont forget to check it out, its coming along nicely... work continues, because of upgrades to CryEngine thing have stopped working in-game.

he could use some help, encouragement, and support (moral and other).
if you want to lend a hand with ESL you need to be able to work with CryEngine as it is now, and you will need to contact Slayer_2 for the rest of the information/discussion/etc..

other information/news that pertains to everything else that is going on more or less.

new site is up for the team, and those who want to join:
there is some content on there, not much but some:
- Reborn mods have been uploaded to the site and can be found in the downloads section of the site
- Game Mod Teams have been added for you to join (if you want to participate in modding those games)
- in process of uploading images/pics/etc. that i have collected over the past several years and months for people to look at.

looking for modders to join up and help make games like Rage, Fallout 3/Fallout: New Vegas, and Skyrim better games...
I understand that most people haven't a clue on how to mod Rage, I might have some incentives for you if you can learn enough (or help encourage/get more people involved) to work on creating mod(s) for this excellent game.
(we need to get people interested in modding this game somehow, its too awesome of a game to not take advantage of modding it)
if you just don't want to feel alone while working on the game mods, we would appreciate your help there too.

looking for people to maybe start working on the Reborn mods again for FO3/FNV, specially FO3.
general modding, helping to get permissions, merge other mods into it, rename it maybe, creating something like MCM for FO3, and similar. (the usual suspects, lol)

finally, looking for people to join in Modding Skyrim:
most of the work will be removing invisible walls and opening up all of Tamriel to be explored, adding Races that still exist in canon, creating a dynamic body system, finding ways to get animations into the the mod or game, updating/fixing/adding too Character Creation, make use of boats and other forms of transportation available or better (modder for working wagon, and mod would be nice here), getting permissions to use other mods/etc., merging mods into a single mod or something like a DLC for the game.
(some other stuff maybe)

thanks for reading this, if nothing else... if you like any of these ideas, have ideas of your own, want to get involved; feel free to join our site, teams, and make comments on this stuff.

last: thanks for downloading previous mods and using them.
its nice to have whatever you worked hard on be appreciated by being played and used... thank you.
best regards,
from all of us.

Nice to see that iD is trying different genres, and in hands with bethesda, hoping RAGE 2 will be much better, in terms of open world gaming.

What made you think Rage was suppose to be an open world game?

Its a good game so far but it doesn't live up to id's standards. I'll probably wright a review for it whenever I beat it. Preordered this game and went to the midnight release SUPER psyched, got home installed it and could barely even ******* play it. Took them forever to fix the bugs and even then it still had its issues and crashed occasionally. Got about 24 hours into the game but some of that is due to playing multiplayer with friends and doing all the side quests and exploring. But I eventually made it to Subwaytown and did some missions there and got bored and haven't picked it up since although I did recently re install it but still haven't played it. But word to the wise, its a pretty BIG install, so if you haven't bought it yet I suggest you buy a physical copy, it still requires steam to run though but the good news is its SO much quicker to install and even if you lose the discs later you can still just install it through steam.

Hardly. The game suffers some texture pop-in, and some of the textures are a little bland, but I often find myself just hopping out of the car, and looking at the sky. The environment is just stunning to me.

If you want to nominate a game as "Shittiest of 2011," look no further than Duke Nukem Forever. That game is just ugly on every single level.

Magic_Nipples Jan 7 2012 replied:

graphics ***. And yes, I saw the picture of the horrible textures in some places of the game (probably from being rushed they never made them a higher resolution). But honestly I look at the gameplay and fun factor of the game first before I call this the THE SHITTIEST LOOKING GAME OF 2011.

game mostly looks like this, and its not a graphial error like some are having. this is highest settings running optimal (without AA in this screenshot). i m in the middle of the game and got about 100 screenshots of places looking same or worse.
