Project Zomboid is an open-ended zombie-infested sandbox. It asks one simple question – how will you die? Whether surviving in Knox County free-roam or controlling Indie Stone mascot Baldspot in his quest to save his injured wife Kate – death is always a certainty. Quite how long you manage to put it off is another matter…

With Ubuntu/Kubuntu and Open JDK 7 installed, the game doesn't run. You get past the point where it asks for the Desura-key, then a frozen black window that you cannot close and are forced to shut down through System Monitor. Will give it a better score when the game actually runs. Note: There are newer versions on their forum, but they are not in Desura. This review will not change until it runs "out of the box" from Desura.

I enjoyed this game for a while, but due to the constant "patch coming soon" but never actually coming, im giving up on this game for now, maybe the game will finally be slightly updated within a year.

PZ had it rough, i'll give you that. I'm sure their team had their heart in the right place, but as a developer myself I'm concerned they have lost their way somehow. I gave PZ the benefit of the doubt for nearly 7 months now, but the reality is there's been 0, ZERO, NIL updates to the game which in its current state is broken (CTD when placing batteries in flashlight, unfinished screens, random bugs). I have no idea how this is consistently in the top 10 on Desura.
If they wanted to raise money to build the game in the first place they should just have said so. I could write more about the game, bu the simple ground fact is that I paid 5 pounds for a game that simply doesn't exist, and is unlikely to ever be released. Funny enough, you can't get refunds either.

No updates since what now, 1.5 years, 2 years? Really, the development of this game is the slowest I have EVER seen. And they all the time talk about how imminent the Update is and that they just work on the last details. Forget this game. There are plenty of other games like that out there with quick developers. Try Minecraft if you haven't yet.
