Project Zomboid is an open-ended zombie-infested sandbox. It asks one simple question – how will you die? Whether surviving in Knox County free-roam or controlling Indie Stone mascot Baldspot in his quest to save his injured wife Kate – death is always a certainty. Quite how long you manage to put it off is another matter…

Hello all, so this week we have an announcement to make that we’re sure a few people suspected might happen one day or another. At the moment the PZ team is working with modder extrordinaire TurboTuTone to bring the incredible Erosion mod into the base game!

To those who are not aware of it, the mod is incredible, and simulates the wear and tear of the world over time, with cracks appearing in walls and floors. Grass, vines and trees growing over urban areas as nature reclaims the planet. It also will bring seasons into the game, with snow in the winter, brown trees and grass in autumn, and flowers blooming in summer.

In the process we will be expanding the system, and TurboTuTone has already been working on some awesome new stuff such as soil moisture maps, with Mash drawing new trees, bushes and grasses for the various seasons and map areas!

Here are a few screenshots, please note these are WIP:

The winter will also be getting some love, though we have no screenshots of those yet! Mash intends to do extra stuff such as leaves on the floor for autumn, and grass coming through cracks in concrete and all other good stuff!

So a big big thanks to TurboTuTone for allowing us and helping us bring a more evolving dynamic world to Project Zomboid, and we can’t wait to see what he does in future!

Build 28

As you may be aware, last week we released a test build of 28 onto the password protected Steam branch I Will Backup My Save, which can be found by following the instructions here.

Easy and Romain have been hammering away at a bunch of fixes to the most commonly encountered issues in the test build, and we’re planning on shipping it out to official soon. There may be another hotfix to the IWBUMS branch before that happened, but fingers crossed it won’t be long now!

Work on the map, vehicles and NPCs continues apace, nothing specific to report except as to say they are going very well!

Later folks! <3

No the current version is 0.2.0rRC 2.

LOADS of changes since then and the game is way better!

1)On this page where these comments are, look to your right.
2)You should see a section saying 'Purchased Downloads'
3)Click the file just underneath 'PURCHASED DOWNLOADS' which says 'Project Zomboid Alpha Unstable EXE'

If you're running a mac operating system click the link below which says ''Project Zomboid Alpha Unstable DEB''

If you don't see any of these links i'm referring to, the chances are you have not purchased Project Zomboid yet.

if you have purchased Project Zomboid, perhaps you haven't Activated it? In which case i'd check your Hotmail/Gmail for Messages from Desura Regarding PZ.

If there is nothing there then contact Desura via Email as i'm sure they'll be able to help you out with whatever problems you are experiencing:)

Hope this helps!

1.5d is the latest stable version relesed for desura "there are other updated versions that indie stone has on there forums but they are still alpha state"
No offence but you should use the power of the internet to search about this stuff. I see a couple of post of you complaining about stuff they have in the new releses.
P.S if you would have read the info about the game before you bought it, it states this is not the full game, its the work in progress. You donate towards the game and you get accsess to the alpha versions of the game and when it is done and fully rreleased you will also get that version to.

I belive 2.0r was relesed in July. If you own the game on dersua to the right of these comments is purchased downloads, you can download it there. I personaly recommend 2.0q its alil less buggy. 2.0r is fun and has alot of graphic updates and pistols but everytime i use the hammer the sound plays over and over and never stops, makes it unplayable to me. Mabye you will have better luck with it.

This is one of those examples of how great indie alpha funding can be... Project Zomboid is a real work of love fueled by a great community and great interaction between developers and fans. Even if it's just in the earliest stages the colossal potential it has for modding alone makes this a game full of potential. As for the game itself it has great music, and awesome atmosphere... It's a great ride for all the nostalgic gamers that fondly remember isometric games. And the structure of this game…

I enjoyed this game for a while, but due to the constant "patch coming soon" but never actually coming, im giving up on this game for now, maybe the game will finally be slightly updated within a year.
