Imagine how proud I felt at my selection as a Member of the UMSA Aurora. While the exact purpose of the mission was unclear, everyone knew that this was the most important scientific mission of the century. And I was going to be a part of it.

As we reached our destination the truth was unveiled.  I thought we was here to help Alrik Industries with the stellification of Jupiter but that was not the case. Pride turned into horror as we learned that the research was about forbidden time travel instead.

As chaos erupted my friends took a stand either for or against the mission, But the Admirals answer was swift and brutal, dissents was arrested by his military goons and the station forced in line.  As they locked me into the cryo-tube. I asked again and again “What is going to happen now?”

Waking up I already had the TP-205 brain-stem implant inside my head. The admiral forced me to run through a gauntlet of tests in abandoned looking facilities. Apparently they were built to verify the abilities of the implant. They didn’t seemed to care about was the effects on the subject. The pressure of seeing myself die again and again is inhumane, how did they thought anyone could manage this? Or maybe they didn’t and that’s why they call me a Number instead of my real name.

How could anyone mind wrap around this?  Theories is one thing but not only seeing yourself but to actually use what they call Single-person Cooperation to work together with versions of yourself from different timelines to achieve goals I couldn’t achieve on my own is mind blowing.

But it gets worse, they call it the Paradox Principle and I can understand why. I don’t know how or why it works but they force me to change the past in a way such as the new future becomes a mix of the original and the new one. It’s so weird to first do one thing and then create another timeline to manipulate the original one into doing something different without actually changing any of it’s actions.

They talk to  me about Temporality fields and how that’s what allows the Paradox to work. Every child knows what a Temporality field is. That’s what’s protecting earth from being destroyed by when we played god with time. Just thinking about the implications blows my mind, but simply put the objects inside of them aren’t affected by me moving time forwards or backwards.

And the Admiral  is always there following my every step, together with his left hand Gray.

So we are inching closer to our big release, after shaking out some rare bugs on the desura release it's time to go for the rest of the world including steam. But now before we make our final preparations we thought it would be a good idea to ask you who have watched and followed our game what you think we should do.

The subject for today is trailers. First out here is our gone gold trailer.

We were quite happy with this one we got a good vibe of it being a commercial in the beginning and then som story time in the end while showing some gameplay.  But the problem always remains that a games that happens mostely in the players head is hard to show to the the players.

So our idea is to ask you our watchers who probabely know a lot more about the game than the general public. What would you want to see to get excited what do you think we can do better with the old trailer and what should we think about with our new one ?

So this is your chance tell us what went wrong and what we can do better :)

In fact if you have any ideas on how to attract more exposure it would be welcome :) I think we have a good looking game with an interesting concept, and everyone who ha splayed it so far agrees so it's kind of tough.

Well we do have a steam greenlight account and our own webpage, but everything we post is pushed booth to our own webpage and here. But we haven't mad to much noise of us to be honest. Probabely to little but then again its hard to get noticed out here on the net.

I'd recommend:

Making a few posts on reddit (choose a popular post and tease people with a link to a trailer or something like that),

Making a few threads on some forums (e.g. a popular sci-fi forum);

Setting up Facebook and Twitter pages;

and recruiting some people (mostly via forums) who will make your web designs more eye-catching.

That's all I can think of really.

Having a teaser trailer that's really powerful with some awesome theme music and an exciting title will help a lot too (I know you've got a trailer, but I think you could make a more exciting one).

We have been doing a lot of these, we even hired in a Director for the trailer to make it more interesting, but it's tough reddit seems like a bad place to go to unless you are a regular because it seems newbie posts just die. But we are actively looking at all options.

At the moment we do belive a playable build is our best bet and are aiming in that direction.

Alright so now I have played Prometheus. And while I can understand from this trailer where people are coming from they are also far off. At first it seemed like Prometheus was just a Curser10 clone (the same game that inspired us for more about that and the origins of this game I refer to Indiegameschannel.com) Sadly it meant it also contained all the parts that made Cursor10 frustrating. It was also very similar to ratchet and clank a crack in time in that you always start a clone form the same position. But thanks to the epimetheus twist halfway the game grew a lot more on me that was a nice idea.

But coming from the view of Project Temporality Prometheus like Ratchet and clank or all other games featuring a type of recording from a fixed position for a fixed time is a very different proposition. While in the trailer it looks like you always spawn a lot of clones at the same time you don’t do that in normal gameplay. You can spawn a clone at any time with any length of recording which stays there permanently. This by itself make the game very different not only do you create clones you have to think very carefully about where and when.

For example in the first puzzle in the trailer the only place you can originate clones from to make it succeed is that specific space between the force fields. Just finding this out is a big deal. Also unlocking us from any specific time limitations also changes the game a lot. We go way deeper into the puzze aspect and mix it up much much more than they did. So it's two very different games. But we understand your confusion and we will later launch a gameplay trailer that will make it much easier for you guys to get into the core of Project Temporality. I can write a lot of text about this but I'm not sure if I can explain it better than i have done at our indiedb page or the aforementioned interview. But don't worry just ask and we will try to explain to the best of our ability. And hopefully the next video will clear up a lot of the misconceptions people have. Till then just ask away.
