Experience the mind bending power of single player cooperation.

Project Temporality is a third person action/puzzle game built around the concept of allowing the player to play with time. Thanks to our proprietary engine Sparta 3D we make the fourth dimension as available as the other three. Just as with a VCR you can rewind time or fast-forward through it seamlessly.

Combining this and our time line concept you will solve mind-bending puzzles, by giving yourself a helping hand. Any time you need a friend, you can be that friend. Create a new timeline at any time/any place there are no restrictions. This game is all about giving you full freedom in four dimensions.

Solve puzzles involving lasers, mirrors, force fields, trap doors, platforms, keys etc. Exploit time to do the impossible. Explore the world and see into the mind of its people. We hope that you will enjoy the result of our years of evenings and weekends.

Key Features

  • 4D Gameplay
    The fourth dimension Time is as accessible to you as the other three since at any time you can rewind to any earlier point in time, to find that perfect moment for you. No more frustrating replays performing the same sequence over and over again. Just rewind and fix.
  • Single Player Cooperation
    This is the key part of the game. You can exist in many parallel timelines using time clones. It means that every time you need a friend's help in the game, you can be that friend. You can spawn a new time clone at any position and time in the game, and once you create a new one it’s there forever.
  • Multiple true timelines
    Time clones will continue to perform the actions you recorded. They are, however, still a part of the game world, and if you change the game world the end result will also change.
  • Temporality fielded objects
    A temporality fielded object is an object that won’t be affected by your time manipulations, because it is inside a field that cancels out all timelines except the original one.
  • The Paradox Effect
    Combining the true timelines with the temporality fielding allows us to create paradox based puzzles where one single timelines performs multiple different actions depending from where in time it is viewed. Mathematically every temporality fielded object increases the number of dimensions with one which is what allows the paradox effect.

We are extremely happy to announce that Project Temporality has won not only one but 2 categories in the Swedish indie competition the golden chip. This is going to become a yearly competition celebrating the Swedish indie scene and the competition has been running for half a year now.

With any Swedish indie developer being allowed to send in their games. So we decided to enter with Project Temporality and 4-5 months later we got a message from the jury asking us for keys so that they could play the game. Just a few weeks later we learned that we have won not only one but TWO of the three categories which was absolutely overwhelming. But not being able to tell anyone was torture.


So this weekend we traveled up to Dreamhack to receive the awards and to finally be able to tell everyone. It was a rough day with around 7 hours of travel but it was worth it, standing there on the stage realizing you have won booth most innovative and best game vs some pretty stiff competition in the Swedish games industry was awesome !

The Jurys Motivation for Most innovative game translated to English was
“Temporality is a clearly underdeveloped game mechanic that here is thoroughly explored and shows the possibilities of the fourth dimension. The result is booth interesting and entertaining. Innovative and Impressive!”
For Best game the Jurys Motivation translated to English was
“A well composed,solid and polish “FPP” with the right touch of humor. The brain hasn't had to work this hard since Valve released Portal; Brain workout in four dimensions – it can’t get much more trickier than that ! The short version : a game that leaves you wanting more!”

We are really happy and grateful for this recognition being and indie developer often feels way to much like the sad parts of indie games the movie :)

In fact if you have any ideas on how to attract more exposure it would be welcome :) I think we have a good looking game with an interesting concept, and everyone who ha splayed it so far agrees so it's kind of tough.

Well we do have a steam greenlight account and our own webpage, but everything we post is pushed booth to our own webpage and here. But we haven't mad to much noise of us to be honest. Probabely to little but then again its hard to get noticed out here on the net.

I'd recommend:

Making a few posts on reddit (choose a popular post and tease people with a link to a trailer or something like that),

Making a few threads on some forums (e.g. a popular sci-fi forum);

Setting up Facebook and Twitter pages;

and recruiting some people (mostly via forums) who will make your web designs more eye-catching.

That's all I can think of really.

Having a teaser trailer that's really powerful with some awesome theme music and an exciting title will help a lot too (I know you've got a trailer, but I think you could make a more exciting one).

We have been doing a lot of these, we even hired in a Director for the trailer to make it more interesting, but it's tough reddit seems like a bad place to go to unless you are a regular because it seems newbie posts just die. But we are actively looking at all options.

At the moment we do belive a playable build is our best bet and are aiming in that direction.

Alright so now I have played Prometheus. And while I can understand from this trailer where people are coming from they are also far off. At first it seemed like Prometheus was just a Curser10 clone (the same game that inspired us for more about that and the origins of this game I refer to Indiegameschannel.com) Sadly it meant it also contained all the parts that made Cursor10 frustrating. It was also very similar to ratchet and clank a crack in time in that you always start a clone form the same position. But thanks to the epimetheus twist halfway the game grew a lot more on me that was a nice idea.

But coming from the view of Project Temporality Prometheus like Ratchet and clank or all other games featuring a type of recording from a fixed position for a fixed time is a very different proposition. While in the trailer it looks like you always spawn a lot of clones at the same time you don’t do that in normal gameplay. You can spawn a clone at any time with any length of recording which stays there permanently. This by itself make the game very different not only do you create clones you have to think very carefully about where and when.

For example in the first puzzle in the trailer the only place you can originate clones from to make it succeed is that specific space between the force fields. Just finding this out is a big deal. Also unlocking us from any specific time limitations also changes the game a lot. We go way deeper into the puzze aspect and mix it up much much more than they did. So it's two very different games. But we understand your confusion and we will later launch a gameplay trailer that will make it much easier for you guys to get into the core of Project Temporality. I can write a lot of text about this but I'm not sure if I can explain it better than i have done at our indiedb page or the aforementioned interview. But don't worry just ask and we will try to explain to the best of our ability. And hopefully the next video will clear up a lot of the misconceptions people have. Till then just ask away.
