Project Savior is a sci-fi horror shooter for ZDoom source port, similar gameplay-wise to games like System Shock and Strife. Unlike the traditional Doom mods, this game has complex developed story, lots of dialogue and scripted events. The levels are mixture of realism and arcade abstraction, following the traditions of Doom's Episode 1 and the Simplicity mod. Currently, a demo based on the Teaser version is in development. The resources are mostly taken from FreeDoom, HACX or crafted manually (for now...)

I've decided to show the WIP wad to the public, while the demo release is getting the Duke Nukem Forever release estimate, so you'll still have something to chew on! There'll be 2 maps and a cutscene, featuring around 10-30 mins of gameplay. I'll be eagerly waiting for feedback and bug reports!

Also, remember - FreeDoom and ZDoom 2.5.0 are required. The wad was also tested with GZDoom latest version, and despite the sprite alignment glitches the scripting works perfectly.

This is the proof-of-concept public alpha release, containing 2 maps, 2 weapons (fist and Bloodsucker) and 1 enemy type (zombie nurses). I'm eagerly awaiting...

Pretty nice idea tho there are some (mayor) flaws. The biggest one was the level-design. Switch-hunting gets tedious REALLY quickly, especially if there is no to little indication what each switch does.

The 3th-person view is a nice idea but the sprite is constantly obstructing your view when shooting, wich makes it hard to aim. The collision whas kind of wierd too, probably because the player's hitboxes are still 1th person, which also goes back to the leveldesign.

If you're going to use the GZDoom engine, you should also consider doing some voice-overs for better atmosphere and immersion, since most advanced sourceports support this.
