Postal 2: UDK is fan-made remake. It's developed by four independent polish studios. We made enough negotiations to keep this project live. By carrying on conversations we agreed to make Postal 2: UDK on non-commercial license which one RWS approved. RWS (Running With Scissors) is successful company which made Postal, and Postal II game. We are dedicated fans of Postal game series and dreamed of the remake. I wrote to RWS asking if they can allow us doing the remake fan-made non commercially. They agreed, also gave much of support for us. Keep in mind, that Postal 2: UDK project is fan-made independent standalone game and is not developed by RWS but by fans. We found much of fun doing every step of the remake. Contact with RWS is great, also we have much of support from other people. We currently have people who anytime could put the domain, establish Perforce and any related "group remote developing" technologies. Due to that, the project is developed by cooperation of four studios.

Main project features:

  • Full weather system (rainy day, cloudy day, sunny day or high wind)
  • Full day/night cycle depending on day mission progress
  • Angry by level loadings? No problem, in Postal 2: UDK maps are built in one.
  • City
lives! People at morning are eating breakfast, going to work. You can
see some people reading books or watching TV. The city lives, everyone
would be scared if you break into their house at night
  • Perform spectacular executions at night in dark valley! See Paradise town at night while it's raining. Amazing atmosphere!
  • Major graphical upgrade. New characters, clothing system... Maybe you want to spy women when they're taking a shower?
  • Amazing
and realistic weapons and their behavior! Headshot is a headshot,
instant kill, you shot someone in leg? He would fall on ground or... try
to escape, but slowly... Oh, and the ironsight, if you prefer
    long-range shooting
  • Much more... !

Boasting no level loadings? I'm worried about performance hits. Also how would you lose the cops? And how many NPCs can we actually render while still mantaining 60+ fps? I like to get about 120fps because I like to record and do slowmotion stuff.
Also there were these great maps for postal 2 that were really dense and laggy. There was Vigilante, GTA, and Tautayav. I can't wait to see some massive city maps filled with interiors to explore and lush rooftops you can also explore. Jumping from rooftop to rooftop, kicking ***, and all that. Maybe finally we can have fire in postal 2 that DOESN'T slow your computer to a crawl. It's these single core engines maaaan. Doesn't work well on my multicore. Oh the woes of modern-day gaming rigs... New drivers breaking old games like Return to Castle Wolfenstein...

Maps will be split to zones which are not-visible by players and do not affects Player in any way (loading zone or reloadings). We'll do what we can to get the best graphic with optimal performance. However, player will be able to adjust settings.

The second this mod is released is the second I will download it because, so far, I am pretty sure that this will be the best postal 2 mod ever! If you want some ideas for the mod, I have been some interesting ones lately so just PM me.

co-op is one thing i would really love added to this amazing game. your remake of this classic game is looking so good, if i am able to explore every thing like i could do before that would be impressive. i know its being made with a newer engine ...but any chance of leaving some of the glitches and secrets still in the game, they are what i enjoy most from postal 2. i want this remake :)

It's good. Because I too really love glitches and secrets in games. I promise you there's going to be some secrets and easter eggs. Also, that co-op. I wish we do that, first we have to hire programmer for that. Any donations are welcome!
