Gone are the Pokémon Centers, Shops and Gyms. Gone are the houses, villagers and friendly Professors with angry nephews. It's just you and 386 wild Pokémon. And you're pretty sure someone out there wants you very, very dead.
The first release is here! It's a small start, but it's a proof-of-concept of what lies in store. Please leave feedback on this page, or send me a private message.

FEATURES
- Day and Night system, which also affects encounters.
- The current first "level" of the game, including the first Temple.
- Overworld Pokémon encounters (in addition to regular walk-through-grass encounters).
- Since you won't be able to access the regions with different Pokémon for the one you're currently in, I've implemented a system where you can pick your starter (provided you can spell it properly :P). Legendary Pokémon aren't recommended.
- Character Selection.
- Crafting mechanics, storage system mechanics, etc.
- The difficulty system.
- The happiness and death systems.
- A bunch of Easter Eggs for those looking for them.
- Three different Spirit Statues.
- A few new items.
- The achievement system, though with a shortened achievement list.
UPDATES
11.1b - Fixed critical error caused by a damn GHASTLY in the first map. Fixed a crash caused by the options screen on start-up. Fixed an error with secret characters not being able to select a Pokémon. Added Readme file.
I am getting page not found at gamefront
Fixed it!
where do I click to download, it says there is no mirrors?
An hour of not finding any mirror :/ Looking forward to playing it :D
I've been trying the whole day, my body is so ready!!!
I'm guessing it will be better tomorrow , at least i hope so. Looked up the game play videos and it seems so exciting :D
Guys here it is :D Dropbox.com
Really nice man, thanks a lot :D
Sadly isn't working for me. :/
Yeah, same here :/ Won't even try to launch it, just sits there not doing anything.
game exe is under data
The .exe doesn't launch anything.
it does on mine
how many possible starters are there? it's amazing how i just type the name of a pokemon i want and i get it
386 in this version. In the future I'll remove the ability to choose a Legendary Pokemon, or an evolved Pokemon - due to balance issues and the fact that no Pokemon evolves before level 5.
Great game now that it's running. Keep up the good work.
Hm, I know what you could do with later gens, make differnt islands connecting to the first island, then on those islands there could be other gen pokemon, that would be a nice experience. Kinda like how pokemon diamond/pearl/platinum had an extra island that had differnt gen pokemon.
That's probably what will end up happening, though that's a lot further down the road. Right now I'm using the 3rd Gen Pokedex list, but the 4th Gen items, TMs (which are planned to be implemented sooner rather than later) and movesets.

Where does it say "Members only"? Anyone can download it afaik. >_>
Awesome!
For a Demo, there is alot of things to mess around with. :D
I loved being able to choose which pokemon to start with. However, as a slight aside, might i suggest a random button? You click it, and it auto selects a basic level pokemon from a list for you? That way, you can play a random game as well.
Other than that, i love what i have seen so far.
My favorite features so far:
Not seeing a pokemon's level when you fight them. - This makes every fight a danger, as you don't know if you can beat this pokemon, till after the first round of fighting. Haha. Nothing is worse than a one hit kill move from a clearly level 25+ nidoran half an hour into the game. xD
Choosing which pokemon to start with. - This has always been my most wanted feature in pokemon games. It gets boring after a while, being able to only choose between a fire, water, and grass type pokemon.
If i wanna start out my epic journey to being the best with a Jigglypuff, than dammit(!!), let me! Thanks for this! ^_^
(I used a random number generator, and it picked Skarmory for my first time playing, FYI)
Crafting. - This makes everything feel much, much more important. It's not possible to just go buy 20 more pokeballs to mass toss at pokemon till they are caught. Having to work with finite resources to catch good pokemon makes for a much more interesting experience.
Anyway, good work with your Proof-Of-concept Demo! I can't wait till there is a another release!
I was playing it until I got to a place with Xatu, I managed to catch one and decided to use it's Teleport outside of the cave so I can get back quickly, it said "Would you like to go back to Test Map2" I ignored it and said yes, then I was sent to some weird Pokemart place, There was a merchant who said something about Doors, a Lass that sold me basic stuff, and a Youngster working as a Name Rater.
There were three doors behind the Merchant, I took the one on the left and boom I'm in the Title screen and it went back to my last save.
Is this supposed to happen?
It's a demo room from the original Pokemon Essentials kit, and not supposed to be there. The next game update will fix this glitch, and using Teleport will bring you back to a shelter.
I can't get it to work :( what do i open the file with??
