Pokémon3D is a recreation of the old Pokémon games Gold/Silver by Nintendo/GameFreak (but, of course this game has nothing to do with them ;) You're the hero of the game, and as usual, you want to be the best Pokémon trainer of all time. So let's go, visit some grass and catch, battle and defeat wild Pokémon, explore towns and routes in 3D, collect items and Pokémon, play with a friend in LAN co-op and much more. The game is currently under development and features are added frequently.

Yeah so, it’s finally here: 1545 files edited, over 10.000 line changes since 0.49: We have been busy.

The entire Servers backend has been redone, and it’s buggier than ever. But we don’t want you to wait even longer for the 0.50 version of Pokémon3D, so now we are going to release it. Here is the entire changelog:

Game Changes:

  • Completely new server infrastructure
  • Removed old Move System and replaced it with the new one. This allowed for custom GameMode moves.
  • Added a few more moves
  • Lots of internal rewrites and code cleanup

Story Changes:

  • Ancient Ruins and Millenial Star Tower (Original areas)
  • Completed Route 14
  • Added Routes 15-19
  • Fuchsia City + Gym and badge

Miscellaneous:

  • Significant number gen 3+ Pokémon
  • Fixed some bugs
  • Added some bugs

The update will be distributed through the game’s launcher shortly - also don’t forget: you need to update any server software you are using to the new one. It will be downloadable on the Downloads page.

Report any bugs you find in the new version here: Bugs Forum.

Thanks and have a great day,

 - nilllzz

I'm a bit disappointed that I couldn't even finish the first errand you run, but that is understandable, however, here are some suggestions:
- I like the camera modes you have in but you should also support a top down view like the original. The game wouldn't be very 3d but IMO it should be an option
- Add the option to side step/backpedal, so you can move in more directions than forward. In 3rd person especially it feels cumbersome to move
- Related, but the turn keys shouldn't try and act as a keyboard version of free look, it would be easier to get around if a and d swung your character around up to 90 degrees at a time, snapping in the 4 directions leading to adjacent tiles
- Battle music and sounds for the abilities would really add a lot. I don't doubt this is coming but IMO it should come sooner rather than later

Keep at it, I'm honestly surprised no one has gotten this sort of thing going before. Looking forward to seeing this improve with time.

Game crashes immediately nothing even seems to load up. Im running it on a 64-bit OS. Do I need the pokemon G/S ROM or a certain program to run it?

These are linked in the trouble shooting page in the launcher, I had the .net framework but not the xna 4 runtimes. They are both free and very small downloads.
