Everyone's problem here is the price, so the dev needs to do a price drop...dude you aren't a AAA game dev. You are an indie game developer. I know you need to make money too, but 25 dollars for an indie game...seriously...it's just too much. You need to stop giving people hope for a sale of an indescriminate amount and just drop the price...hell! Even 15.99 is something I would gladly pay. But for 25 dollars, I could easily get 2 or 3 indie games of fairly good quality for the price you are charging for one. I honestly think you are shooting yourself in the foot with that price.

I actually just did a sale for the game on Desura last week, but I am quite new so I don't know if everyone was notified, I promoted it on my twitter though. Game on sale for $9.99. Result? sales went up that day but not more than when was on sale at full price.
Numbers don't lie, sorry. I already tried lowering prices in my own site in the past but every time I got less money.

You need to put the sales on DESURA. Not everyone follows your Twitter. The people that follow it here should be informed. Also, c'mon man...14.99 or 15.99? I would pay for it like in five seconds. I thought indie development was a labor of love, or at least it should be, rather then a thing to see how much you can make. That's what major companies do. Part of the reason I love indie games so much is that the developers TYPICALLY don't seem to be about how much money they can make, but rather more about getting a good game for a cheap price into gamers hands. It's the reason I PLAY indie game is for that logic and feel that people care about the players rather then just making money. 9.99 I would say is too low for the game. It clearly had some serious work put into it from what I saw in the demo. At 14.99; 15 dollars, I would say I would snatch that up right away. At 14.99 you would make a fair amount of money (since that appears to be the primary concern here) and sales would increase. I can promise you I would buy it for that price and I'm pretty sure a lot of others would. I want you to make money, but I also want to feel like I got a fair price.

Hmm but I put the sale on Desura! Maybe It didn't appear in the news though (I'm fairly new to this). For the record, I am open about experimenting on prices for games 1+ years old (like this one). So well... there you go, will leave it at $15 for a while and see how it goes.

You need to write an article for a game to be featured in the news. Making a promo on Desura doesn't get announced on its own anywhere but the 'on sale' tab on the webpage, which requires manual looking in there. Same thing for comments like this one - they don't get any notifications.

When you write an article on the other hand, then everybody tracking that game gets notified plus (I think) it gets published on the site-wide rss feed.

I've written a topic in the past about announcing promos by default in the rss feed on the Desura group forum, but it didn't bring any changes :-(.

You're both welcome! I hope it works too, I don't mind lowering prices if revenues stays the same (or maybe increase hehe). Thanks

Hello Jack, I tried this game. It's fun, sexy, but the prize kinda steep =)

But what I was wondering: could you offer this game from Gog.com also?
I don't like to connect online to install or run games.

I could try asking them, but I doubt they'll be interested :)
Anyway my registration connects only once, is like downloading a file.

My guess is that Gog would accept them. Gog sells games without DRM, that is their main strength. Besides, there are enough buyers for your games, and that brings $$.

Hope to find them on Gog as well =)

Hmm, well GOG specializes in 'classic' games, I haven't seen too many indie or newer games on there.

Althought Gog.com stands for Good Old games, that does not mean that newer games are not sold. Some people protested when Gog sold newer games. The are selling Witcher2 for instance. Gog now sells newer games and as well indie games.

(Hmmm, desura is 100% DRM free also not? Just poiting towards Gog, that that platform is another possible way to sell games. I knew Gog way before desura)

I know other indies who were contacted by them, and some games are going to be on GoG. Still since I'm not popular among the press, I don't think have the slightest chance :)

Every type of game has it's own audiance. So does the games from Winter Wolves.
Not trying the shot is not knowing if you score well or not. Don't self proclaim. At least proclaim positively. You guys have started something. Who knows where this adventure goes? Well you guys are the writer and the programmers. It's your party! =)

Oh I'm doing fine, really. It's just that never had much luck with the press and as consequence, many portals who decide who to pick only based on the press coverage. Kudos to Desura for letting me publish my games, I think was worth it even for them.

As a game developer I know which even the games which doesn't have ultra 3d graphics and such are very complicated to do; Planet Stronghold manages to at least in my opinion, succeed at the game genre it proposed to supply. The demo version kept me playing with attention, the combat system is allright, the open RPG nature of this game absolutely charms me; you can choose whatever you see fit for you play style, and develop your character and his team(nice interaction with the game characters too…

Good looking game, but the price is not justified.
