It is the year 2287, one of the first colony ships sent out by Earth arrives at the planet Maria, in the Epsilon Indi Star System. During its landing sequence, something appears in front of the massive ship that causes it to lose control and crash into the planet. Some of the colonists survive in lifeboats, but what they find is an unforgiving land filled with creatures ready to outlast the visitors from Earth. Now the survivors must explore, gather, build, create, fight, and ultimately, conquer the land.

I agree that it doesn't look quite like an AK47, but that's what you get when you strike a balance between system requirements and voxel detail. To be honest, though, I think you might be able to squeeze out a bit more voxels on the custom weapons, turrets, and vehicles if you convert them into polygons when displayed in the game world. However, I have no idea if it would even be practical, let alone any idea on how the conversion would be achieved.

Will there be any additional kinds of 'guns', such as laser rifles, crossbows, or slingshots? It would be nice to be able to have some early and late/endgame content ("endgame", assuming there is one, being the achievement of constructing Earth-like technology and materials).

Also, might there be the possibility to build custom ammo for weapons? While it would be cool to shoot a trident-shaped arrow at foes, or shoot bullets made out of rock and which look like a fist, I could definitely understand if it was deemed too complex or excessive. (After all, there is such a thing as "too much" ;) )

It not looking like an AK is more the fault of person who made it. Haha. The resolution is about 1 cubic centimeter, so players should be able to make a lot of details. Yes, you'll be able to shoot other things like laser, particle beams, bullets...no sling shot though. O.o

Right now all ammos are unlimited, we'll see if people want custom ammo, since it's pretty easy for us to implement.

Something our programmer made in the Creations Editor in Planet Explorers, it doesn't really look like an AK anything though. Something to look forward to in Alpha 0.4. :) Fully customizable range weapons.
