Designed as a thrilling blend of role-playing and action Pirates of the Caribbean takes place in a large group of Caribbean islands during the golden age of piracy and high seas adventure. You will take command of a ship and its crew, swordfight with other captains, accept and complete daring quests, chase rumors of dangers and riches, and change allegiances amongst the colonial powers in the game. Through skill and daring, you will have the ability to obtain more power than the toughest captains in history ever dreamed possible. You will be able to customize your captain, crew, skills, and attributes to their individual liking. During shore leave on the many fanciful islands, players can interact with townspeople and shopkeepers to replenish stores of ammo and crew, and explore the wilderness in search of adventure and treasure! A party-based system on land and at sea allows you to hire friendly captains to form small fleets of ships for trade or battle, and your own band of adventurers...

Description

Many bugfixes, some of which to long-standing bugs like Shipberthing and the storms. New features, such as the new Officers System and Lagoon seas. Quest updates, including a new part for Assassin and the beginning of a whole new French storyline.

1 - Install Build 13 Final (if you haven't done so already)
2 - Extract Build 14 Alpha 9 Full file on top of your game and allow it to overwrite all files it wants to
3 - Install Build 14 Alpha 9.5, following the instructions in the installer and allow it to run RunMe.bat

Thank you for this one !:)

I got some bugs though, as always.

The 'Auto Skill System' off Character interface bug still wont work.
The Cursed Black Pearl fix still wont work either. When you put the Black Pearl as you ship, it seems that your character doesent have a ship at the menu. When you click start game, the game crashes.
The Auto Skill System bug is the same as always. You can't turn it off, and your levelsettings wont work.
I also noticed that some of the storylines are bugged. When you click start game, the game start. But all you can see is the character icon in the corner. You and also press F1, F2 and so on. But the rest of the screen is completely black.
Ill look for more bugs as we speak, but i hope you got any answers for my problems.

Cheers

Are you absolutely sure you installed correctly as per the instructions?
The "Auto Skill System Off" bug definitly IS fixed; I have just checked to be sure.
All storylines start just fine and there's no Black Pearl black screens either.

I ran the bat after i extracted the patch into my folder. Some files didnt copy though, but i guess that is normal?

I had patch 3 working perfectly, and just extracted patch 4 over it, and run the bat.
Anything i did wrong?

Any chance you could give me fast instructions on how to shut down the Auto Skill System then?

When i do it, i go to the BuildSetting notepad file in the Program folder. I go to Automatic skill system line, and types 0' , for stock POTC. It still doesent work. I've had problem with these notepad files ever since the patch 3 came out. It just wont work in the system during gameplay

Now i did a complete reinstallation of the game. Everything works fine until i get to patch 4. When i start the ''Run me - batch'' file, it misses something. In between this, the black pearl fix and some other things. The bat runs and i get alot of ''Cant find the specified file'' messages between the ''File Copied'' messages.
I dont know if i am doing something wrong, but i am 100% sure that i followed the instructions properly. Patch 3 works perfectly, so the bug lies in patch 4.

The error message i get, is that the bat cant read the Buildsettings files. So it doesen't affect my gameplay at all.

You're supposed to use the Options>Advanced Options menu to change the game settings. That works.
Do you still have those black screen errors?

Ehm. I use the Advanced Options menu to choose the level. but you need to turn off the Automatic Skill System on the buildsetting.h file. Ive done everything.
I can post a screenshot of when i am running the bat on the installation of patch 4. At the very beginning.

And yes, still got all the same bugs. The Buildsetting files wont affect my game. Some of the storylines is blackscreening, and the black pearl crashes the game.

The messages on that picture are nothing to worry about.
But seriously, I don't get what's going wrong with the installation.
Please enable error logging: Moddb.com
Then load the game and post the contents of compile.log, system.log and the possible error.log here.
Hopefully that'll give a clue as to what's going wrong.

Oh... and you definitly DO need the Advanced Options menu for turning the Auto Skill System off. That's how I did it and that worked for me.

My advanced options section ingame is the same. Start level, start money, start wealth and so on. There is no place to turn off the auto skill system.
I dont really care about the pearl as long as i got the Dutchman, but i need the lvling to be correct.

Okey. I did find out what the problem was. You have to reset to ''Default'' in your Options menu. The bottom huge button. Just as a helping guide to other users that may have the same problem :)

Thanks for the patch anyways, and keep up the good work! Love it ! :)

And thanks for your help :)

There SHOULD be an "Automatic skills-system" option in Advanced Options.
You have to scroll down a bit though. Do you still have those black screen errors? Because those are definitly not normal either.

I got the blackscreen errors, and the black pearl error. And my Advanced options ingame is not big. Start level, start money, start wealth, change nationality and one more. No menu for changing the Automatic skill system.

Hey there

These mods just moved an old okay game into the only thing that I play.. Thanks for the great efforts you guys put into this :)

However I do seem to have some difficulties getting it to work properly.

Build 13 works - a few ships doesn't have their picture in the "ships" menu but apart from that it seems to work as planned.

build 14 from 9 final to 9,5 patch 4 on the other hand.. I can't berth ships.
Pictures are missing.
Half the time I can't do anything after a quicksave and half the other time the fast travel wont show up
And the flags are completely random.. Spanish is blank and what should be the spaniards shows up at the pirates and so on :/
