This is a game project that I started some time ago. The idea is to adventure with other players in a medieval world, where you can build houses, mines, and a lot of other stuff - wherever you want. You might want to start a village with your friends somewhere in the mountains, or maybe even build it inside the mountain. Players mine ore, cut trees, and perhaps even sell the materials onwards to other players. You can hunt, and there will probably even be bigger monsters that need to be taken down by co-operating with the other players.

The finished game will be completely free and won't include any premium items or abilities. Every action performed by your character will have both respective first- and third-person animations, which is a bit more immersive than a hovering weapon. Terrain can also be modified in real-time and caves can be mined into rock.

The game uses Torque3D Professional as it's engine and the server will most probably to be hosted to it's own dedicated server computer in Stockholm.

In a nut shell

  • Completely free-to-play

  • Crafting and building everywhere

  • Hunting, animals and wildlife

  • Terrain can be modified in real-time

  • Caves can be mined into rock

  • Uses Torque3D as it's game-engine to provide graphics that are on the par with today's games

  • Huge seamless world

Help wanted

We're currently looking for somewhat experienced organic modelers, which means basically anyone who can model trees, humans or animals well. Animating skills would be a huge plus, but aren't necessary. No pay is offered, but you will be properly credited and I'll be in your debt. You can contact me here with a private message or via email at .

The difference is minecraft actually exists. This would no doubt be a cool game, but if you have been on ModDB (and now, of course, IndieDB) for any amount of time you know to be skeptical. An open world, survival online game isn't exactly a new idea. (neither is the free to play part- which makes me doubt the project the most, besides the apparent one-man-team aspect)

I understand your skepticism. I'm not completely new to ModDB either.

I decided to keep the game free-to-play in order to gain a larger amount of intrigued players. "Pay-to-play indie massively multiplayer role-playing game" doesn't sound so promising, while an unique free-to-play sounds like something that one could try out.

I don't profit from this idea as much as I would from a pay-to-play game, but a larger playerbase might as well be worth it. Keep in mind that I might still recieve donations from some players that like the game and wish to support it.

And about the features; majority of them are relatively easy to code, so pulling this off might not be so difficult as one may think.

He posted 1 single render of a piece of wood. Please tell me what you based your opinion on. ^^

There's two renders of wood now! lol Still even if progress is slow, it's still progress. This is really one of those games that doesn't need to die out. It looks really promising, but the developer is already making a lot of promises with what the game will have... The question is, will it work? Keep it up, maybe when I get my new card I can help you out and speed somethings a long.

A lot of promises, perhaps, but they aren't empty promises. I've looked into each feature to make sure that they are possible and within my skills to create. Still, I'm not planning to include every feature in the first alpha/beta, but to instead work on one thing at once and add it in as soon as it's complete.

It seems to me that he's making an F2P Wurm, but better, with what his goals are...

I hope to see this game begin to flourish then, work hard, and don't underestimate the impact testers can have. So don't cut the testing phase short unless it's ready. I have faith.

this sounds like its going to be amazing, im not planning on ever seeing it done though... sounds to good to be true, especially since its a indie game. now if it were made by like bethesda or id software, then id expect playing it someday. but we will see....

Does sound a bit like realistic Minecraft heh.

Will there be a single player version (like Minecraft's single player survival compared to multiplayer)?

I have a friend who *might* be interested in modelling animals (he does it as a hobby but he's good).

It's probably going to be multiplayer-only. I'm not too sure yet, though.

You should ask your friend if he wants to model for this project, because I'd be glad if he wanted to.

I should be able to upload images of the werewolf model soon, got to find the files that are either on my computer or a misplaced memory stick.

You know, if it's gonna be singleplayer only, someone will, eventually, come up with private server stuff, unless it is already like that, so that he can play by himself... He'd probly release it, but probly not, as a lot of good stuff goes unnoticed :)
