PAYDAY 2 is an action-packed, four-player co-op shooter that once again lets gamers don the masks of the original PAYDAY crew – Dallas, Hoxton, Wolf and Chains – as they descend on Washington DC for an epic crime spree. The new CRIMENET network offers a huge range of dynamic contracts, and players are free to choose anything from small-time convenience store hits or kidnappings, to big league cyber-crime or emptying out major bank vaults for that epic PAYDAY. While in DC, why not participate in the local community, and run a few political errands?

Kickday 2, the robbery repetition simulator.
The free additional content is nice, the developers are a good bunch but the game and the people who play it... not so great. Do ANYTHING that isn't perfect and chances are you're getting kicked, which means generally you're going to go into every heist doing the same exact god damn thing unless you dare to incur the wrath of the host.

Initial Review
The first Payday felt like Call of Duty: Robber Simulation(v0.2). It had the same depth and variety of Call of Duty and compared to its sequel I consider it a beta. You couldn't even get away with stealth in the first game as any scenario would always devolve into horde mode.
Payday 2 has a vast branch of mostly meaningful abilities, a much larger variety of weapons which all have a large number of customization options, a much larger variety of robberies and scenarios that vary in very small yet sometimes very game changing ways, a multitude of masks that can be customized, ect ect ect.
It's an outright better game in every way.

Could of been better if they hadn't of removed some of the content from beta
Once it was a nice game, with new ideas and great gameplay.
Now the biggest heist is the DLC section on the shop page.
"We've made it clear that Payday 2 will have no microtransactions whatsoever (shame on you if you thought otherwise!)"
Yeah, right ;).
The game presents you with walls of weapons, masks, and mods for your guns, and leaves you to make your own plans on how to go about transferring the cash and items according to your jobs. You can choose from rifles, to shotguns, to even light machine guns, all while picking from dozens of masks with hundreds of colour, pattern, and texture combinations. With a full crew with different skill sets and good planning, you can tackle pretty much anything with ease.
