We’ve had a very busy week over at Crankshaft. We’ve recently hired Blake Allen, our sound designer. We’re all really looking forward to working with him. This brings our team to an ideal seven (get it… seven deadly sins). Vince has been working hard on our new AI behavior. You can expect a development blog post explaining that next week. Tobias has been working on some new enemy concepts. Alex has reached out to the press community and has succeeded in getting three interviews with ModDB, XboxLiveAddicts and 2Girls1Game. (More info to come) The rest of us have been putting in hard hours to finish our first batch of screenshots.
A little background. These screenshots take place on an airship. It’s one of the later levels in the game. The Sins must defend it from the angels as they make their way up to Heaven. The angels get more and more aggressive as the altitude rises, making this a tough survival level and a great introduction into Heaven.
Liz and Daniel Williams worked together on the artwork for this level, and I love the way it turned out. Tobias made the excellent background artwork. These screenshots show off some of our toon shading. We plan on working on more of these shaders to give the game a unique style. Gameplay-wise, the level is still taking shape. Players will be able to use the flak cannons (shown in the screenshot) by loading them with the cannon balls stored below deck. Angels will be arriving from all sides, and we have a few interesting surprises planned. We hope you like the style we’ve developed.
We’d love to hear your feedback on the comments below. Feel free to ask questions, we’ll answer what we can.

Love the concept of the game and the art style. Will you be selling the game?
Yes, it will be sold on Xbox Live Indie Games.
Wow, that looks... Really cool. o.O *Tracks*
Hah, this looks really interesting. So is it coop or competitive? It seems to be both?
You better believe its both!!
Lookin pretty sweet guys, hopefully some gameplay videos next!
(and would that be the same Blake Allen, sound designer, who used to work for Noesis Interactive? If it is, you've made an excellent choice!)
Yep, one and the same.
Hahaha, really nice art style :) Tracking.

Seems like the forum link is broken? I just get an "Address Not Found" error page.
Checking that now. I think we had a DNS hickup.
