LAST UPDATE: Dec 15 2011 - More on the visual style (Features section)

Parasite takes place right in the middle of the trilogy storyline. After being a victim of the horrendous experiments being run in a secret place, the protagonist manages to escape, but crashes in a space station where strange events have taken place. She must fight her way to survival and try to find a way out of that place, either by herself or with the help of the survivors of the UDM Barracuda.

Parasite is a third person shooter that combines combat, player choices, event randomizations and a karma system that can change how events around the player evolve. The game will try to keep the player moving forward and adapting instead of trying the same thing over and over till they succeed. This doesn't means a player would never get a "game over" by failing a task, but rather make players adapt to this failure while the game keeps moving forward and avoid unnecessary punishments.

The game will also include different endings based on the elements mentioned.

Parasite is being developed using UDK (Unreal Engine 3).

PARASITE video game introduces a rather unusual (anti)-heroine

Game to feature first installment of original sci-fi trilogy comes to the PC

May 13th 2011 - The first entry in the Project N trilogy, set on the space station known as UDM Barracuda, is the debut project of independent video game developer The Domaginarium and, after months of development, is being announced to the gaming community. Parasite is an action/adventure title that follows the steps of an unnamed woman that escaped a facility, and now finds herself facing a new and dangerous threat.

Powered by Unreal Technology, Parasite takes place right in the middle of the trilogy storyline. After being a victim of the horrendous experiments being run in a secret place, the protagonist manages to escape, but crashes in a space station where strange events have taken place. She must fight her way to survival and try to find a way out of that place, either by herself or with the help of the survivors of the UDM Barracuda. In this setting, Parasite will combine elements of third person shooting, melee combat, puzzle solving, randomization and freedom of choice. The video game will also feature multiple endings and events branching based on player choices, as well as mechanics that will avoid unnecessary player punishments.

Parasite is currently under development by independent video game developer The Domaginarium, and will be released for Microsoft Windows® in the second semester of 2011. Some features mentioned on this press release may not make it to the final version of the game.

Hi there. The game won't be free but we haven't set any pricing yet. All I can tell you is that since it's an indie game it will be priced accordingly :)

Thanks for dropping by. Would you (and everybody else) be interested on more behind-the-scenes developments as we refine the features and redesign stuff? We're making a lot of changes to what you see on the vid, and adding more stuff.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I really like watching prototype gameplay videos, and behind the scenes, so I'd like to see some more of that :)
