Paranautical Activity is a very addictive roguelike mixing Binding of Isaac with oldschool shooter. Multiple classes with different starting weapons and stats. Randomized playthroughs and upgrades. Overall really good game. You can check my mix + gameplay here: Also good luck with greenlight as valve did not let you release under Adult Swim :<

Hi, the non-Desura client download seems to be missing from this page. An chance we can get the DRM-free non-client download files back? Thanks!

When I upload new patches to Desura the standalone's disappear until the patch is approved. Not sure why it happens, but the DRM free download should be back when the patch is approved in a day or two. :)

What's with the chainsaw melee boss? He's super-fast and I imagine if a player went in without any speed boost it would just be instant game over for him. Don't seem particularly fair? I don't think many would stand a chance, unless there's a secret to stunning him.

There is no character that starts too slow to get away from him. If you take items that lower your speed you run the risk of not being able to outrun some enemies. Also, there are several hard counters to Hanz. If you have any jump upgrades you can hide on top of his elevator and he can't get to you, for example. And even at the lowest possible movement speed with the right strategy you can get out of the fight taking little to no damage. Calling Hanz unfair because he might be able to outrun you is like calling Lust from Binding of Isaac unfair because she can be faster than you.

I do not recall taking any speed "downgrades", having purposely avoided the whale one, and not having taken any "upgrade" that even hinted at slower movement. I did take into account whether or not I had taken speed items before I posted.

I've played Quake and Doom before, and while not a master I'm somewhat capable of strafing and "working" the room. What happened was I ran in, he charged, I ran more and even taking into account that strafing seemed slower - he was stuck on me like glue, doing melee the entire time. I did have a jump boost, but it did not occur to me that the kind of tactics you suggested was meant-to-be. I would have thought that's a glitch/cheat.

I'm loving the new update. It makes it feel like a true roguelike since the bosses change more.

Horrible game by the most cowardly and pathetic devs I've ever seen. Won't even stay around the forums on Steam to answer questions because of the overwhelming number of people who know these developers are shit. These guys can't face criticism, they even said themselves that they can't handle being around forums that they're obliged to answer questions in because "waaah someone might make fun of us" Made by whiny children, terrible game, it's been out for several days now and is already trailing…
