A strange virus has escaped from a secret research laboratory. It only took about 4 hours before the entire state of Atlas had been infected. Now, most of the population is either "dead" or crazy.
This virus is not only dangerous to humans. It's been causing serious damage to the environment.
After the initial infection, many regions have begun to undergo extreme climate changes. An ominous and dense fog has begun appearing in several locations throughout Atlas. While the initial virus has caused most subjects to go insane, there have been rumors that the fog has been mutating people into walking corpses.
Military and police forces have begun taking defensive measures by establishing outposts to help defend refugees.
You have one goal: Survive this hell. You do this by killing zombies and defending yourself against those unfortunate souls who have lost their minds to the virus. Failure to do so will surely result in your death. There will be a lot of survivors asking for your assistance. The choice to help them is yours.
Just remember one thing: Times like these change people...be careful who you trust.
