Overgrowth takes place in the savage world of Lugaru where rabbits, wolves and other animals are forced to use paws, claws and medieval weaponry to engage each other in battle. Combining 3rd person adventure platforming with intricate melee combat, Overgrowth achieves a unique feel. Overgrowth also benefits from Wolfire's brand new Phoenix Engine which has been built from the ground up to allow the use of cutting edge graphics, animation, and physics. Add to these exciting features Overgrowth’s realistic artificial intelligence and streamlined control system and the result is an astoundingly immersive experience.

I was inspired by David's weekly videos to make something of my own. It may take me a few weeks to get the hang of it, but here is my first try.

Be sure to watch it in HD (this is the first video we've posted in 1080p)!

I'm planning to release a new video every Thursday which will show off the new art assets and talk a bit about why I made them, and how they fit into the world of Overgrowth. It would be great to hear what content you want most in future videos.

This week I am showing off some new pieces for my "cat city" set. Let me know what other parts I should add!

Ive always found in games that something does look good in the light, but in the shadows it looks really bad and you can see flaws. Im glad you took the time to fix the problem in your case!

You could use some more wall assets I think, and maybe some path assets that break up the uniformity of the ground... especially within towns. I look foreward to when you begin adding some more foliage assets.

Wow Aubrey, those do look really awesome!
I think I agree with Hell_Diguner, the ground needs some livening up, after all, what kind of town has streets with nothing but an occasional stand?

Exactly, calling this 'almost like its (it's) using the Source engine' could be considered an insult :P

Unless you actually see how powerful the source engine is when it's not all Half Life 2 assets. Go look at Dear Esther's remake and tell me that doesn't look beautiful.

So you don't only make the concept art, you also model and texture the components? Or only texture? I wasn't aware of that. Did you paint all the textures then, or "only" for environments and weapons?

Very nice improvements. All of them. The flags really stand out though - the color seems a bit... vibrant? Maybe throw in more dirt to it and some cat scratches on it.

PS: How about a litter box for cat city? :D
