In the remote mountains of Colorado, horrors wait inside Mount Massive Asylum. A long-abandoned home for the mentally ill, recently re-opened by the “research and charity” branch of the transnational Murkoff Corporation, has been operating in strict secrecy… until now. Acting on a tip from an inside source, independent journalist Miles Upshur breaks into the facility, and what he discovers walks a terrifying line between science and religion, nature and something else entirely. Once inside, his only hope of escape lies with the terrible truth at the heart of Mount Massive.
I haven't played this at all, but I can tell by various Outlast videos that this game does seem really good. But it lacks in ambiance and scare quality unfortunately. And it's also really funny how this game took many elements from Ubisoft games (because Red Barrels are Ubisoft colleagues). I think the NV Camera is from Splinter Cell and so are the stealth mechanics. The parkour also reminds me of Assassin's Creed/Prince of Persia for some reason.
P.S: It's ******* hilarious how people think Outlast invented Night Vision Cameras when you should see the game "[REC] Shutter" which came before Outlast.
