In the early 2020's, the Soviet Union had reunited some years ago and now plans to conquer Europe. Sweden had been a member of the USSR for a while but later they left them and conquered Finland, Norway and Denmark and are now enemies with USSR, USA and Europe. The EU disbanded but Germany, France, Poland, Switzerland, Belgium and Great Britain made their own alliance, European Defensive Force, which is abbreviated to EDF. They are allies with the USA and now there is a full-scale war going on which is considered the Third World War. Sweden plans to conquer West Russia, USSR plans to conquer Europe and USA plans to conquer East Russia. They won't come far without an arsenal of modern weaponry, if you take my meaning. Choose your side and battle through a large war!
Today I am going to share some more news, it's been a while since the last text update because I write so much on my images and movies instead. Huge progress has been made since February and it's starting to become something, though I can't confirm any release in the next months because there is still much to be done.
Anyways, here's a summary of what's been done since the last update.
First of all, I have done plenty of new models, many are important and others are less important though they are still good to make it look better. I have learned many new modelling techniques which are required to make other stuff than firearms, by that being said, I've managed to put a huge amount of time for learning to sculpt in Blender. One of the many great uses with sculpting is that it makes it possible to do human meshes. I made one human for testing purposes and the mesh has got many details like fingers and eyebrows. I still don't know how to add textures yet, but I have pretty good graphical skills so once I manage to figure out how to add textures you should expect me to make some good art for objects.
Other than humans I have improved a lot when it comes to making vehicles. Only three more vehicles has been made: A Volvo 242GL, a UAZ-469 and my recently made-up "M28" which is a German scout car. Speaking of made-up vehicles it might be a good time to tell about what kind of vehicles I will add, so let's clear it up a little for those who does not know what I am going to have the game to look like:
I will use both real-life vehicles and made-up vehicles. It is probably very obvious as I have posted pictures of both, but I want to tell it in this news post too so that you know more about it. I have an unfinished Leopard 2A6 tank on my hard drive, which was never indicated to be in a game until recently. Since my game is about a fictional war between 2016-2024, the technology must advance. Imagine if VTOL cargo aircraft lands in a snowy environment dropping some modern tanks which will then break down after being damaged by Hind helicopters and the crew walks out with some XM-8 rifles which are now much more common than before. That's kind of what I will make, all equipment will be close to each other in eras so it's not going to be a wicked game where cyborgs with laser cannons are destroying some doughboys with Springfield nineteen-o-three rifles.
That's probably enough about equipment because I post many pictures on the equipment anyways. When I've mentioned "environment" you might wonder what it will look like. It will vary some but there will be a lot of snow. Snow! Yeah that's it, more than half of the story will be in the USSR (which has reunited recently in the story, in case you haven't read on the top) in a winter environment. There is not snow ALL of the time there but many missions will be in snowy environments there, also there will be some in North Sweden and Finland so it's plenty of snow. I also like urban maps, there will be urban warfare in the heart of some European countries. If you have seen my most recent posts, I have shown a harbour in Germany, a secret base in Russian mountains and a Swedish town where I've repeated the same building for like 80 times. Those buildings will vary but I haven't worked on that map for a while.
Finally I've started writing a novel on my computer which is the story of the game from the perspective of different soldiers in the coming game. I haven't mentioned it elsewhere but here is a part of it:
Within an hour, the Soviet Forces had defeated all Finnish forces in the entire battlefield. Dark smoke clouds filled the once blue sky in the winter. Destroyed vehicles and corpses of soldiers were everywhere on the field. Dimitrij Sokolov was a Russian man in his early thirties with lots of experience. During his childhood he had been hunting with his father and learned how to handle rifles and to survive in harsh conditions. He had chosen to be a sniper in the USSR after the Third World War broke out in 2019 due to his aptitude for hunting. It was a freezing cold winter in North Finland. Both Russian and Finnish soldiers were used to the low temperature but electronics did not always function correctly so even in a modern era, people in the northern parts of the world had to learn their own ways of survival. Dimitrij had hidden near an abandoned bunker, with snow camo and a silenced weapon he could easily use stealh to sucessfully eliminate his enemies. Suddenly he heard a sound which was different from the constant burning of destroyed vehicles. It did not feel right. A silhouette appeared behind a destroyed tank. Trusting his good instincts, Dimitrij instantly pointed his T-5000 rifle towards the direction of the silhouette, put his finger on the trigger and looked through the scope. The barrel of a Finnish RK-95 rifle appeared behind the tank, but quickly it dissapeared. Dimitrij assumed that whoever was behind that tank would have noticed that they had their rifle visible and attempted to move it. After two minutes of waiting around, a Finnish soldier revealed himself almost completely, enough for Dimitrij to have a clear shot. He unsecured his weapon, took a deep breath and pulled the trigger. A silent click from the silenced rifle came, then a small flash. Within half a second, Dimitrij heard someone grunt and drop something before that person later fell to his death. The white snow within the vicinity of the now dead soldier turned red in an expanding radius quickly. "Another step towards victory", Dimitrij thought as he moved the bolt on his rifle and looked back through the scope on the soldier.
That's all for this time, hope you will enjoy the game once it's finished! Feel free to leave a comment if you have any ideas or questions.
