Open-Source reimplementation of Westwood’s Command & Conquer: Red Alert game engine, updated to use the hardware acceleration of modern video cards using OpenGL and OpenAL for sound playback. It runs natively on Windows, Linux and Mac OS X. The game was designed with modifiability in mind, but is not identical to the original. Campaigns and mods made for the legacy game won't work out of the box.

The only critique I have is that it's somewhat confusing to start up a skirmish map. everything else looks good.

Had it not been for the suttering/lag issues in lower specs, this would score a perfect 10 out of 10 from my part!

Needs to include music in the install.
also, a modding API and SDK would be nice.

Great game, but this version on Desura is outdated so can't play multiplayer (well, at least there were no one with my version of the game the times I tried)... So, get the game from OpenRA own homepage: and then it works like a charm.
