The OpenMW team is proud to announce the release of version 0.17.0! Release packages for Ubuntu are now available via our Launchpad PPA. Release packages for other platforms are available on our Download page. This version introduces a new player control system, potion usage, a Main Menu, and a multitude of fixes and improvements.

Known Issues:

  • Activating a bed can lock up the game
  • There is a minor memory leak that will be fixed in 0.18.0

The new shaders alone show the potential of doing this project. I'm very excited to see how far you take this, it already looks like a big improvement over the original engine and can only get better. Great stuff.

Great job with all the behind the scenes programming... I know programmers rarely get credit, but they do some of the hardest most repetitive work in the game world!
