Oot RP: Ocarina of Time RolePlay
Non-Profit fan-made game for enjoyment.

Oot RP is not competing with Packers Game, I'm mean this sincerely -Zelda World Check here!
Both games are more different because OotRP is done faster allowing it to be a quick & imperfect game just to have access to Hyrule World while Zelda World adds every little detail experience into the game thus longer completion.

Promise to the community:

DLCCorrupt wrote:I'm promising all Zelda Fans who are reading this that I'll finish this game till I feel satisfied with the results (unless before). Play with friends?
I recently discovered that you Probably can't play on the master server (Oops, I can't host it yet [have slow internet anyways] need to find someone who can host later.) So I know another way.

OotRP works in LAN so if you download the program Hamachi, you can form multiple internet connection with friends into LAN (Local Area Network) and play on LAN together with friends. (PS. Haven't tried it yet but will mostly likely work and read the Hamachi documents how to use it, because I don't have the time to explain)

Thank Bolera_of_Fire for mentioning this. (Remember this is still all a beta)

I learned this very, very, recent (as in check post with effect) and learned that this goes against Nintendo's Intellectual Property (http://www.nintendo.com/corp/ippolicy.jsp).

States as follow:

"INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY POLICY

Nintendo respects the intellectual property of others, and we ask users of Nintendo products and services to do the same. In accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) in the US, the Electronic Commerce Directive (2000/31/EC) in the EU, and other applicable law, we have adopted a policy of terminating, in appropriate circumstances and at our sole discretion, subscribers or account holders who are deemed to be repeat infringers of third party intellectual property rights. We may also at our sole discretion limit access to Nintendo products and services and/or terminate the accounts of any users who infringe any intellectual property rights of others, whether or not there is any repeat infringement."

sorry for the inconvenience, but don't want to get sued for this mistake and this doesn't fit under "Fair Use" I did the research already.

I can confirm that there is going to be an Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for the 3DS.
Video: Youtube.com (Japan though, possible that it will have multiplayer mode like they did with Super Mario 64 DS)

E3.nintendo.com

Joystiq.com

People discussed with a possible multiplayer mode here:
Gamefaqs.com

Again, sorry for the inconvenience, but OotRP is officially cease & desist!

I did consider, Unity, or UDK (Not Source), but I gone through so many tutorials of Torque 3D making it a relevant source to start my project on, and its one of the the easiest game engines I ever tried. I'm also learning UDK so I can build better games off it (Its just more advance).

I just remembered something when i was looking at this even though this is going to be a indie there was a LoZ mod made for halo pc version a few years ago it had Legend of Zelda characters and everything and used the actual weapons from the Legend of Zelda games and also stages from Legend of Zelda it was rather interesting i played it a couple of times on my friends comp. Keep up the good work and make it successful if you don't give up on it.

You're doing a carbon copy of my idea, how is that not competing? I still haven't gotten a working ALPHA yet and I've worked by myself for the past month straight and what do you think you're going to do with no real experience? ZW is completely open for custom content Zelda related or not, absolutely no reason to make a complete duplicate just because you're impatient.

Also just because you exported and click a check box in the Mission Editor doesn't mean its good to go, you've got corrupt naming systems and unmodified meshes which will cause a lot of problems.

Just stop before you make yourself look even more silly. You even copied my forum board text, come on.

Its horrible coincidence that you happen to reply when I took out the compare. No its different, its not a duplicate, and not a complete one at that.

Comparison:

Oot RP:

* Roleplay (It more of a roleplay then an action, explore the world of Hyrule with friends.)
* No weapons (It basically a utopia just to go around familiar places and chat with friends)
* Young Link (Packers Alpha release had Adult Link so I'm currently using young link[Going to use him regardless])
* Custom Young Link (Young Link will be wearing a different color tunic[possibly])
* All in one map (Going to script teleports so you don't have to exit the game just to choose another server with another map.[WIP]

Zelda World:

* Termina (I won't create this world space just for the act of peace)
* Weapons
* Deathmatch
* Quest (He said something about of a possible quest maker, not sure)
* Maps Separated (all his maps are separated[as far as I know[alpha])
* Other custom match (He talked about other custom matches on his forum)
* 1.5 Year Experience (He has been working on his project for 1.5 years [started December 17, 2008] so clearly he is in great shape, so to speak.

(Your actually trying, I'm just a beginner who studied the guide for two weeks.
And you can't blame the community of not wanting to make Zelda games, I try to make it completely different like yours but right now i need the map, and unfortunately you don't really accept help for zelda world, just conker.

I don't understand what you mean about corrupted naming systems and unmodified meshes. again, i took out the download yesterday, all meshes have been edited and all missing textures will be fixed, it an early beta just for the community themselves. (Everything works finds to my expectations)

(Sorry about the forum, I was sort of copying like you when you copied blocklands. I'll change it all, promise)

(Forum fixed)There, the forum isn't exactly like yours including the forums rules; speaking of rules, Your breaking the rules, this can't be in public but I won't report you (Warning, talk to me via personal message) . And yes I can simply export a model that I just edited, I'm limited in Torque but not that limited.

Regardless what you say (I'm not trying say this harsh), I'm not competing with you and your project "Zelda World". The first time I had this running I made it clear that I wasn't competing and that's the end of that, once your done with your whole Zelda World, then high possibility I'll remove this "but" only full completed Zelda World.

Remember, speak via personal message, can't have this in public (If your starting a fight).

(Sorry if I sound rude)

Looking at the comparison list its exactly what Zelda World was original designed as and what its capable of, just because I haven't randomly jammed in all of the map models in doesn't mean its not going to have them. You can easily role play in ZW if you just turn the weapons off, you can also go around to different areas. The reason why its a deathmatch off the mark because Torque is built on a DM FPS system so I can give people something to play off of rather then waiting weeks.

(I wish you did this privately.) *Sigh* I guess you would be irritated, annoyed, or concerned (or all of the above) that someone was going to make another online Zelda game. I recently read your forum and understand it was later going to be a sandbox game. (Way later)

One thing that makes a big difference to your game is Time. I'll admit I'm impatient, but so are the rest of the Zelda fans. You started the project 2008 Dec. And just one map (really good though) so yah, I decided to create my own and minimize 1.5 years to 2 months. If there was only ONE difference, its Time. I'm sorry, but impatient varys to every one and over year is too high. But one good things about time on YOUR side is your game is the exact duplicate, or in other words, Better!

I'll make you a deal:

If you full filled your promise to the Zelda fans of completing the game (All maps and etc) then it will also be the exact duplicate of this game but BETTER thus leaving me to shut down OotRP. My game is a taste of what your game is. (You have the advantage I'm one guy against you, Jimmg, and who ever else[This makes it sound like I'm competing with you but I'm not)
OR
We could both work together and finish the game. (really, really doubt you or I would agree to this since be have different tactics of making the game[It was an option though])

I'm not competing against you, I sincerely mean those words.
And you have to admit they won't be total duplicates were you and I are going.

Conclusion: I'm promising all Zelda Fans who are reading this that I'll finish this game till I feel satisfied with the results (unless before). If Zelda World get to the point were all maps are playable and all promises full filled, it would be obvious that Zelda World will achieve higher then OotRP which results in ending OotRP.

The point I'm trying to make out Packer is everyone doesn't like to wait for something and it would be about time for someone else to start faster. If that's as fast as you can go, then you need more determination and inspiration. These are the qualities of making a good game faster and better and better then faster (I hope this was inspirational and I hope you have more determination because really, your better at this then me, all I want to do is make a whole Hyrule World, play with friends on it and wait for Zelda Word to finish [This is the MOST reason why I did it.]). I didn't mean to provoke you, and ironically Zelda World inspired me to do this (Plus all the above reasons.)

So all in all, OotRP is my Zelda game to play with friends and the community waiting for Your game to happen, when you can do that, there is know reason for OotRP to exist.

I only started on T3D Zelda World maybe a month and a bit ago? Those extra 2 years give or take are years of experience and learning, you want to do that in 2 months you've got another thing coming. By not doing something correctly you're only making your own situation worse and causing more problems then you think.

In my own "Slow" hast I have people crashing on loading in the pre-alpha, I can't wait to see how many errors and lag I'll see in your version which I actually tried before it was removed, I can't even spawn a 2nd area without intense lag.

Oh i wasn't going to respond but your problems from the loading screen is mostly a problem with direct x. That's my "install first" because if you don't have the latest, it crashes on loading. Just a hunch though. (I tried it on multiple computers)and newer versions reduce lag, that's why i can play on 4 maps all together without even one lag but my pc is very strong so who knows? (hope this helps!)

Dunno, bro I have a computer from 2007 with a HD 4600 series ATI. I tried a stress test with ZW by placing 25 Hyrule fields all on screen, got around 19-21 fps.

Your right, I recently tested it out by adding 25 maps and it lagged. (Unfortunately I'm doing 20 maps) I found a possible solution though. Have you heard the term "Visible Distance"? Its were an object, terrain, and etc, can be viewed from a set maximum distance, so you won't have a visible tree a thousand feet away on the game thus reducing lag.

I say good idea and that's what I proposed but there is one major difference. I do mine to fast and he does his way to slow because we both do our projects differently. He gets it perfect and I just want to play online with friends in Hyrule world very quickly whether its perfect or not. Good Idea though, who knows, it might happen but the chances are very(xgoogle) low.
