One Late Night is a short immersive horror-game experience, starring an unnamed graphic designer employee, working late one night at the office, until strange things start to happen.

The basic idea is that players who have been in similar situations, and worked with similar office jobs, will relate themselves to the game setting and scenario and become immersed. Even if you can't relate to the game storyline, you will still get a good experience. The storyline is presented with short monologues, displaying the thoughts of the player, as you need to perform certain tasks to proceed in the game to continue discover new clues about what's going on.

Use your surroundings to your advantage and hide under desks and in corners to avoid being taken by the ghost which haunts the office. Remember that the light will always be your friend. Survive the night and find as many clues as you can about the threat.

Do you have a couple of years of software/game testing experience, or perhaps you have an interesting computer/hardware setup? Then you might be an interesting beta testing candidate for the upcoming sequel "One Late Night: Deadline". Please note that a beta testing application does not guarantee you a beta testing spot - I personally handpick them all. More Linux gamers are needed, but everyone's free to register.

This game was great! I played the entire thing without much problems. I thought i'd list the "bugs" or whatever here.

I only found one really. After lighting the candle, and having it up so it was illuminating the area, and i entered Roberts office, the candle sorta drifted out of my hand and flew up into the roof and vanished. I was still having the "holding candle" animation, and as far as the game knew, it seemed it was still in my hand because once i got near the sofa, i was asked to "throw candle". And from then on out, everything worked fine. The slow moving character was a little disheartening too. But i saw another comment mentioning you were going to fix that, so talking about it here is kinda moot i suppose.

I should also mention that i didn't really understand the ending. Was i supposed to look for "clues"? Cos it said i found none. And it was a little weird how i couldn't open up doors and drawers that were close to the floor. Maybe increase the activation range a little? I kept feeling that i was missing out on items because i couldn't reach them. But i guess i wasn't since i managed to finish the game.

Oh, and while i'm at it, it was nice how you had a zippo in the game. Nobody has that. Everyone else just use matches or regular lighters. Oh, and was there a way to "fight" the ghost? I tried pointing the flashlight at it, but it didn't do anything. So i just ran and hid. Light was supposed to be my friend, but i can't really say light was used for anything but lighting up the area.

Thanks for the game. It was entertaining and i played it in one sitting^^,

The flashlight is in fact a weapon of self-defense against the ghost, simply point it at her with the light and you'll notice that she starts to smoke. After a period of time she will burst into flames and vanish.

Thanks for the comments. These bugs have been fixed in the new update (in authorization phase), meanwhile you can get it at www.onelatenight.com.
As for the doors: those at the bottom aren't suppose to open. It's just the way the game was designed. I had enough of cabinets and drawers to hide stuff in anyway ;-)

The main menu buttons are inactive for about 1-2 seconds after the title screen shows up. This is a fail-safe mechanism. Keep clicking them ;-)

Hello.

The plain windows version package is: OneLateNight.zip

If you want the windows DX11 version you get: OneLateNight_dx11.zip

For the Mac version you download this: OneLateNight_osx.zip

And for Linux you get this: OneLateNight_linux.zip

Once it's downloaded all you need to do is extract the zip file anywhere you like, and then go into the folder and double click the executable to start the game.

One Late Night... I had my eyes on that game for a while (like 2-3 weeks) without having the balls to play it. Once I decided to do it, just once I opened the game I regreted doing that... That place the game is set in, is just creepy itself - an office with nobody in there, only you. Or that's what I thought at first... Then Robert and the Black Widow are introduced, and that made me say 'Woah'... The game consists of the two opposites - the good (Robert) and the evil (Black Widow). Both of them…

Very disappointing you think it is a cool horror game but you never know where you must go. There was not even a moment where he said "Hey I heard something in the toilet" maybe you would have thought so, "maybe I should check times in the toilet" but so thought you all the time "WTF what should I do???
You should install moments that will give you a few tips where you should go next.
