OCEAN CITY RACING continues to move forward on the Steam Greenlight rankings and i'm pleased to announce that the future and the past OCEAN CITY RACING buyers on Desura will be rewarded with a free Steam Key.

Go ahead and purchase Ocean City Racing from Desura right now, and when the game gets accepted to Steam in the future you will receive a free key of the Steam version of Ocean City Racing which would be an improved version of the current build.

I just bought it and installed it. To answer your question... it's hard to tell. You won't believe this, but you can't set controls at all. You're forced to use the control scheme they chose during development.

This is completely unacceptable.

For those who bought it, hows the handling of the cars in the game?.

The handling was created in a way to give a real life driving experience in a city environment. You have to drop your speed to make turns , but even going at 60 km/h feels a lot faster than other games because the sense of speed is the same as real life.
If you go over 200 km/h it feels really fast , while at games like NFS 200km/h feels quite slow.

Also every vehicle have their own mass values , physic assets , acceleration , gear ratios and top speeds so every car reacts different than each other.

Not fullfilled of action like a NFS, but pretty realistic. The car has to be at a correct speed in every turn. Maybe the car hava too much grip, but you'll get along.

Does this game have in-car driving cam, or just behind car cam? The screen caps and video only show behind car cam.

Ah, that's too bad. I love racing games, but I prefer the immersion of being inside the car. I just don't like 3rd person perspective, especially in racing games. Well, I'll watch to see if it's implemented at some point. Thanks for the reply!

In this game you don't feel the absence of the dashboard cam because this game is more like a driving game. (Like in GTA you don't feel the need of dashboard cam)

However as a gamer myself i started playing Grid 2 yesterday but i couldn't play more than 2 races because they removed dashboard cam and the cars are fun to control from the back of the car view. In Ocean City Racing the current cam feels just right with the dynamic cam feature. (Camera is not constant , moves with speed, brakes , turns and immerses player into action.

Will you be adding in game options to change the mouse sensitivity and audio volume?

This is an awesome achievement for a small team! Cars feel great and races are quite fun. Race mode is quite short (finished in two sessions) and free roam is pointless, but for $4.99 I'd say it's pretty good.

I wouldn't so much call it a "racing game" to tell you the truth. Racing is usually fast, hectic, adrenaline pumping. Instead of tearing a path to the finish line by battling other racers, you're taking it slow and steady at grandma's pace just to keep it on the road. With unrealistic collision physics (accidental wall driving in the tunnel) and inaccurate drifting (you spin all over the road, reverse does nothing, and hand brake is too powerful), you'll fight not to win a race, but to continue…
