Composed in my studio playing samples from my keyboard. The tone is cinematic and classical in style, with a small amount of anachronistic electronic bits thrown in.

I can't stand this game. My favorite part of RPGs is talking and interacting with NPCs, but in Oblivion, the only options are "Rumors" or, the name of the city your in. The plot is dull, there are no interesting NPCs, and your character can't have a personality. I liked this game at first, but the longer I played, the more I disliked it. I never did get around to finishing it.

A totally over-rated game, if you ask me.

may I suggest Morrowind? though the interaction with npcs is mostly text, they all seemed to have personalities. And IMO it was a superior game.

Maybe your idea of genre is getting in the way of you enjoying a great game? I agree as an RPG it is quite lacking in the traditional sense, but just as a game, i found it spectacular. I was completely surprised, having not played Morrowind prior (i have since played purchased and played Morrowind.) I can see many ways Oblivion would benefit from the implementation of features from Morrowind, but there is no good cause to criticize Oblivion.

Didn't it bother you that no one - not even your own character - had a personality? Every NPC was the same, and there were no dialogue options that let your own character have a personality. There was no motivation to finish it, because there was nobody you cared about, and you already know where the plot is going.

Which, in my opinion, made the game boring.

Quest mods can help fix this. Integration The Stranded Light in particular has 24+ hours of silent dialogue for the NPCs added in its 80+ quests. It also has race/sex/faction ranking/situation/skill/etc. checks that recognize your character's actions/skills/appearance either just to recognize it, or as a way of completing a quest. So that adds some personality and uniqueness to your own character as well.

It's kind of like real life. The core game is the day to day blandness of going to school/work, doing basic bodily functions, etc. and mods are what makes up the actual interesting components of life like: love, friendship, thought, morality, conflict, etc.

The Elder scrolls is one of the best game series in the world! It is a great RPG, but it is a little simplified from Morrowind. The quests are simple, but great. The graphics is better than Morrowind and are easier to change in the TES Construction SET. The Story is Great, and it has a lot of side quests! I love the adventure trough Cyrodill and i recommend the game to everyone who love TES or RPG. If you think the game is boring, after played it a lot. Try some mods as: Nehrim: at faiths edge…
